About this assignment
A responsible couple (or at least 2 people) who can take basic care of the house and garden, as well as our 2 dogs - a 4 yo Bernedoodle and a 6 yo mixed breed rescue - and 3 chickens.
NB - we suggest more than one person because we are in rural Hawaii - if anything should happen we'd like to know that both the house-sitter and animals will be OK.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Feed the dogs and the chickens. Walk the dogs daily. Monitor the Roger the Robot who mows the lawn. Go to the beach. Sit in the sun with a good book. Snorkel. Explore. Relax.
What are the good features of the property and location
Nice house, view of Maui, large pleasant garden, nice places to sit and contemplate the world. Great internet connectivity and streaming services. Good places to walk the dogs.
Note: We have two security cameras - one is pointed at the front driveway, the other is our ChickenCam, showing the inside of the chicken coop. We have NO cameras that are in any way intended to monitor people.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We're in Hawaii. It may be warm and sunny. It is a little out of town but we can provide access to a car.
We have a little guest house you are welcome to use for visits by family and friends. If you would prefer to arrive a little earlier or stay a little later you are also welcome to use it.
Can I bring my own pets?

We loved our summer in Hawi, Hawai'i
We had a wonderful experience housesitting for Mike and Helen. Their dog Mirrhi, and the chickens are great company with loads of character. The house is spacious and lovely, and the property is vast, with a gorgeous view. There are some fresh fruits and veggies as well as fresh eggs! We did loads of snorkelling and beaching. No matter what direction you drive or walk, there is beautiful scenery. And if the weather was a bit grey or rainy up at the house, we could easily find warmth and sunshine within a short drive. As hosts, Mike and Helen are wonderful too. They are seasoned house-letters, very communicative, welcoming, and with so much information and advice about the island. Although they have already booked a housesitter for next season, Michael and I highly recommend them and their home for future summers. We wish we were still there and miss the sun and snorkelling so much.
