we have to small female donkeys and also a tame sheep. The pet sitter needs to be bold enough to handle the friendly but sometimes a bit stubborn donkeys (two ladies). We have a camera checking on the donkey/sheep shed, but nowhere else.
We are looking for a reliable, confident person/couple/family who enjoys animals and nature while being close to a medium university town. We have really nice neighbors who like a chat, especially with foreigners
Looking after the property, feeding the animals (dog, three cats, three chickens, two sheep, two donkeys), walking the dog, watering the tomato/chillie plants. Also, the donkey/sheep shed needs regular cleaning requiring, which means you will get a bit dirty. They are all friendly, but you need to make sure they do not take off.
Our house is spatious and at least 250 years old. We have modernized it so the charme of age comes with modern living. We are just one hour away from Frankfurt airport and you do not need a car to get here or around. Bikes will do if you do not mind a few hills. Two supermarkets are just 3.5 km away and the medium sized university town of Gießen is around 10 km away. Our place is in a small hamplet 500 m from the next small village, surrounded by meadows and forest. A nice hideaway from the hustles and bustles of life.
Animals and garden require reliable daily care. They all need their love, too. The donkey/sheep shed needs cleaning every few days if you have trouble wearing rubber boots to clean the shed you may not consider applying. The next club and bar are 10 km away and I am not sure of their quality... partying may be somewhat difficult here.
No, sorry.

Peaceful time spent in beautiful nature with lovely animals
We had 10 wonderful peaceful days together with the dog Beppo, the three cats, the donkeys Wilma and Paula, the sheep Wolle and the chickens. Such amazing creatures and easy to look after. They got quickly familiar with us and we gained their trust. All the animals (except the chickens) loved to be stroked and were seeking love😊 Every morning we took a morning walk about 1,5 to 2,5 hours with Beppo in the spectacular forests in the local area. He is the most kind but also strong dog. In the afternoons we explored the surroundings by bicycles and had some more walks with Beppo. The three ginger cats are easy to look after. Friedrich is the captain and Lise tries to be the chief and Karamell, well he we did only see when he wanted to have food at night. The five chickens produced two eggs for our breakfast every day. We enjoyed very much having contact with the to donkeys Wilma and Paula because it´s not that common for us to have contact with donkeys in our regular life. We cleaned the stable every evening and gave them some extra food. The last day Annette took us for a walk with the donkeys, and the sheep Wolle followed us. We loved it. Our other obligations were watering the plants in the greenhouse and the flowers as well as the grapes in front of the house. We got to taste the delicious tomatoes, but the grapes weren´t ready before October, of course. The garden gave us relaxation and peace. The house is a chapter for itself and is historically well preserved. It´s something very special to live in a 250-year-old house and you just feel good vibes. The neighbors were very very friendly. Due to them we got a great tour in the local museum and lots of local knowledge and discovered a lovely concert down by the local mill. Annette, Philipp and their youngest daughter made us feel truly welcome and at home. They are open-minded, kind and very helpful! They opened their house and heart to us and trusted us fully and their friendliness was felt all the time. It was easy to communicate with them and Annette gave us clear and good advices as well as instructions of how to handle the animals both to control and get along well with them. Annette has always cared about our well being. Thank you so much for a unique experience in the beautiful nature of Biebertal. We can absolutely recommend it 😊

Nice country estate outside of town
We had the most amazing experience house sitting for Annette and Philipp on their beautiful country estate. While close to the town and all the shops, we really enjoyed the incredibly quiet and dark nights with no light pollution. We haven't had such good sleep in a long time. The walks in the woods were a much-needed break from the hustle and bustle of city life and the biggest dog we've ever seen, Frida, quickly became our loyal companion. She would always join us on our everyday walks, though she can be as stubborn as a donkey about the direction she wants to take. But she's a loving soul, enjoying attention very much. She would follow us around the house all day, seeking a way to get a little cuddle. The cats were equally delightful, always ready for a snuggle and bringing us various gifts right from the beginning, in the form of trophy mice they captured. Donkeys and sheep each have very unique personalities, but feeding and interacting with them was also a lot of fun; and chickens helped keep the fridge full. Taking care of the house and animals might seem like a challenge from the description, but in fact it was very easy and was not that much time consuming. Annette and Philipp provided us with clear instructions and guidelines before we even got there, ensuring we had all the information we needed to properly care for the house and their beloved pets. The communication with them was very friendly and easygoing. We highly recommend anyone considering house sitting for them to jump at the chance. You will be rewarded with an unforgettable adventure, surrounded by the beauty of nature. And if you hear someone "getting murdered" outside at night, do not worry. You just didn't feed the donkeys enough in the evening and they are letting you know.
