About this assignment

We are looking for someone who is reliable and respectful, ideally an animal lover who will give the cat lots of attention, as he is used to adoration!

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Primarily taking care of our cat. We also have a few house plants that will need watering and bins will need putting out. We also have a tortoise in hibernation who just needs his door opening once a day to keep the air flowing.

What are the good features of the property and location

We are in a quiet neighbourhood only a mile from the Cotswold market town of Stroud. We are ideally located for hiking in the countryside, there are some fantastic walks near our house, but also have some great Cotswold towns and villages near by, a number of supermarkets and excellent bus and train connections to cities such as Gloucester, Cheltenham, Bristol, Birmingham, Bath, Cardiff, Oxford and London.

Our house has two double bedrooms with one Superking bed and the other with a double bed. We have a good sized fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable living room and a large garden with a seating area and barbecue.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Our primary focus is for the welfare of our pet, so you must be committed to ensuring he is well cared for during your stay. He is relatively low maintenance, we would just be happy to know that he is in safe hands.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

Delightful time in the Cotswolds

Michelle was very organized, kind and communicative from the beginning and sent me detailed instructions about the house-sit in advance. She arranged for her brother to pick me up at the train station and left me a delicious pie for lunch. I felt really welcomed even though I didn't get to meet her. The cat, Prince, was low maintenance and well-behaved. The house was clean and beautiful with a delightful garden. It's in a picturesque part of the Cotswolds with lots of great walks nearby.

Looking after Prince in Stroud

Really enjoyed my pet sit in Stroud. Prince the cat was good company and was always clear about his needs re: food etc. Titus the tortoise was hibernating so only needed me to open his door a couple of times a day. Michelle was very helpful and gave me all the information I needed with very clear notes left for me covering everything about Prince/the house/and location. She kept in touch while away and her family and neighbours were friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this sit.

A wonderful housesit in Stroud

We had a wonderful time in Stroud looking after Prince. He's a beautiful boy with a gentle, loving personality. We had a very quick handover but it was straightforward and Michelle and Lee made us feel very welcome in their home and had even left a lovely, homemade pie for our dinner. Michelle had everything well documented, including suggestions for where to eat and explore in and around Stroud. It was easy to stay in touch with Michelle and she was very quick to respond. I can recommend housesitting for Michelle and Lee.
