About this assignment
Someone who is reliable and enjoys animals , We have three dogs, Hazel a very loveable beagle terrier cross & Bonzo and Wilson who are brothers although one has short legs and the other long. The property is beautiful and large and although still undergoing renovation is very comfortable with lovely enclosed gardens, we think it would suit a couple or someone who is happy on their own.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Walking the dogs and making sure they're watered and fed along with the cats. Wilson and Bonzo will need walking on the lead as they have a tendency to run off for days.
What are the good features of the property and location
Beautiful spacious old textile mill and gardens set in lovely country side. The old mill sits just outside the town of Labastide Rouairoux . Which sits in the Black Mountains. There are many interesting historical sites nearby and mountain walks. Ryanair fly into both Beziers & Carcassonne which are just 1 hr 15 mins away.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
To get the most of out of your visit and the surrounding area we would recommend having a car. If you're prepared to be here without a car the town is just a ten minute walk away. With a bank, resturants & 2 boulangeries and a butchers .We would be very happy to collect you from the airport. If you want to come a bit sooner or leave a bit later that's fine.

Joyful days with playful cats and energetic dogs
I had a truly lovely 10-day sit in Labastide Rouairoux. From the very beginning, Lara and Simon made me feel welcome and at home. They provided all the information I needed about the pets, the house, and the area, and Simon even picked me up and dropped me off at the airport, which was such a kind gesture. Spending time with their pets was an absolute highlight. The three dogs were full of character and energy, always eager to head out for long walks through the beautiful countryside. The terriers in particular showed their hunting spirit whenever they caught a scent, which made our walks all the more lively. The five cats were equally delightful, each with their own personality, but all gentle and loving. I had lots of fun with the two kittens—curious, playful, and so affectionate. Watching them tumble around in their play sessions and then curl up together to sleep was pure joy. The house itself was large and comfortable, a lovely place to relax after the day’s adventures. The area was perfect for exploring with the dogs, with so many different trails to discover. All in all, it was a fun experience, and I would happily return to spend more time with this special group of pets and their kind owners.

A beautiful discovery
Simon, Lara, their children and their animals were a delight to meet.Their consideration and care for others is predominant in their interesting home which is under rehabilitation by Simon's talented craftsmanship.I was lodged in a very cosy, warm,clean and tidy part of their home which made my stay perfect.Their adorable animals were delightful to look after.The many nature trails and outstanding countryside would bring me back to share the company of my heartwarming new found friends.Thank you, Simon and Lara for your trust and this enriching experience.
