About this assignment
Looking for mature individual to watch my home and my pet. Students or retirees welcome. Must be a pet lover with experience with dogs. Must have own vehicle. Bicycles available for use. Must have own transportation. Non smoking, drug free home.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Keep the house tidy during your stay. Most importantly is to take care of our dog (feed and walk small dog), as you would your own. You may be asked to water plants.
What are the good features of the property and location
Large custom Spanish Mediterranean home. Near the beach in Southern California. The beach is a 10 minute walk. Two local piers each within a mile radius. Lots of great restaurants and shopping. House is equipped with smart TVs.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Must climb stairs, the kitchen is upstairs with the incredible views. The beach is a short 10 minute walk, but uphill coming back. My dog is top priority while you are here.

Hazel was such a joy to be with! I became very attached to her, and she enjoyed my company as well as the two of us settled into her beautiful home. Hazel was so easy to care for, including sleeping well at night. She actually slept by my feet without a peep; so cute! Margie, Hazel's mom, was awesome and the communication was great right from the start. Her instructions, both verbally and in writing before they left, were clear and concise. I loved our long morning walks down to the beach and our shorter evening walks around the neighborhood; the area is awesome. It is only a short walk down to the beach and to the health food store Lazy acres. Manhattan to the North is classy with a bit of a European vibe, and Hermosa Beach has a cool and eclectic vibe with a ton of cafes, restaurants and bars all the way down to the beach. The promenade by the beach going between Hermosa Beach and Manhattan is where the locals meet; people are walking, running, roller blading, bicycling and dogs are a large part of the population. You will love taking care of Hazel; everything about the experience was great. I had been missing my own furry friend since my last one passed away a few years ago, so being with Hazel was really good for my heart. It was emotional when I left, having become so used to being with her for five days. This pet/housesitting experience was the best. I highly recommend it and would love to come back! Great sit!
Hazel is easy going and sweet as can be and a delight to care for! Margie’s home is clean & beautiful and the location is fabulous. Easy walk down to the strand, nice deck to watch the sailboats on or sun on the front deck. Margie top notch in being prepared for pet sitters and had clear instructions for everything. Great sit, hope to hang with sweet Hazel again!

Adorable pup and beautiful home and neighborhood.
Communication with Margie was seamless and directions for home and pet were straightforward and comprehensive. Pup Hazel is adorable and easy in every way. I loved walking with Hazel throughout her beautiful neighborhood and along the beach. Home is lovely and clean with outstanding panoramic views. Highly recommend and please take Hazel with wherever you go....she loves to stay close!

Another Wonderful Opportunity
I was delighted to again be chosen to pet-sit with Hazel in her beautiful home. She is the sweetest girl and a joy to hang out with. Wonderful House/Dog Sit
This was the perfect housesit--gorgeous home, beautiful Pacific Ocean view, darling well-behaved dog, great areas to walk on the beach or greenbelt, even a home gym. You can also get by without a car if you don't mind walking about 20 minutes to a grocery store or using Uber. Everything is pretty close by. Margie left detailed and clear written instructions, kept in touch while away and replied promptly when I needed guidance on using some of her upscale kitchen appliances. Very friendly couple and I became attached in only six days to cute Hazel, their dog. I would definitely sit for them again.

Simply Wonderful!
If you are lucky enough to be chosen for this opportunity, you are lucky indeed! Upon arrival and throughout, I couldn’t have felt more welcome or appreciated. Margie let me get settled into their beautiful home (complete with stunning water views) and super-comfy guest bedroom before walking me through how everything works (detailed written instructions are also provided). They also kindly invited me to join them for dinner down by the main part of town and took the long way home to help me get oriented to the area. If you enjoy walking, everything is easily accessible by foot, including restaurants, grocery stores, the beaches, etc. I found it an excellent location for exploring the LA-area beach towns! Hazel is the most adorable fur-baby and wonderful companion. She is very easy to look after, greeting you each morning and anytime you return home with ballet-like leaps and twirls of sheer joy. She slept with me each night…and I sure missed this sweet cuddle-bug when I woke up this morning. In short, I am so glad to meet this family and enjoy this opportunity…and I’m certain you would be too! Exceeded my expectations of what a GREAT pet/house-sit opportunity could be.
