About this assignment

September 2023 in a village near Mölln: We are looking for reliable animal-loving persons (with their own car). House sitting is not the most important part - animal sitting for our cats and chickens is :)

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Our house and animal sitter should look after our 5 cats and 5 chickens.
Daily tasks are:
Cats: clean the litter box, feed, provide fresh water ... usually takes not more than 15min/day.
Chickens: remove the litter, open doors in the morning, feed, provide fresh water, close doors in the evening, collect (and eat) eggs ... not more than 20-30min/day.
It's possible to leave them alone for one night in exceptional cases.

What are the good features of the property and location

We are located in a very small village between Hamburg and Lübeck. Quiet and idyllic, but without any infrastructure ;) You need a car!
Since I am obviously not able to mark our village on the map here I attach a screenshot that shows it correctly.
It's less than one hour drive to the Baltic Sea. 45 minutes to Hamburg city centre (where you could try to visit a concert in the famous Elbphilharmonie).
You could even bring your own pets, e.g. a dog.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

As stated, you need a car. There is no public transport available nor any shop.
Actually we are absent from Sep 3rd to 24th, but you would live in our 4bed guest apartment (which is part of the house) and could stay longer if needed. I attach some screenshot pictures here named "Wohnung".
Unfortunately the cats are still very shy so you might not even see them a lot and they will not allow you to touch them. They go in and out as they like (by a cat flap).
