Cambridge, Massachusetts - One week in March

About this assignment

Looking for a responsible, trustworthy, and careful house sitter to take care of our house and cat from March 17-25, 2026. We live in a quiet residential neighborhood of Cambridge, MA, home to Harvard, MIT, and numerous other colleges, bookstores, museums, restaurants and more.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

- Basic house care such as watering plants, accepting packages, keeping the house occupied, keeping the house safe & sound.
- Caring for one young, friendly cat
- Some rooms are being painted this week, but not the one you would be staying in. The painter has worked for us, and for other families in the area, for many years and is a trusted presence.
- Handling any emergencies proficiently

What are the good features of the property and location

The neighborhood is quiet, friendly, diverse, inclusive, and walker-friendly. Our single-family home is bright, non-smoking, and within walking distance of subway and bus lines. There is outdoor space for relaxing. The kitchen is complete with equipment for coffee/tea, cooking, baking, juicing, etc. We have wi-fi, smoke and CO detectors throughout the house, as well as fire extinguishers. There is an electronic lock so you don't need to remember a key, and a front door security camera. Several grocery stores are within walking distance. There is off street parking if needed.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Parties and large gatherings (indoors or out) are not allowed.

Drug use is not allowed.

Can I bring my own pets?
