About this assignment
We are looking for an animal lover to care for our two beautiful cats for a summer holiday. The cats are both complete softies and quite spoilt - they love to be cuddled!
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Looking after the cats - food, water, litter tray. Giving them lots of attention! Clearing up the occasional ‘present’ - we do live in the countryside after all!
What are the good features of the property and location
We live in a beautifully renovated three storey cottage in the Cotswolds- Kingswood, Wotton-Under-Edge. We overlook stunning countryside in a quaint English village yet we are only 5 miles from the m5 so have really easy access to lots of places. Bristol is just 20 minutes away.
Our home has three bedrooms; the main bedroom, which our house sitter would use, includes a stand alone bath overlooking the country side and a luxury kingsize bed. We are very biased, but we do always receive many compliments on it being like a hotel suite! We also have a large second bedroom with double bed and a child’s room with cabin bed and lots of toys to play with!
We have two gardens and a little stream running along the bottom. We can also offer you a parking space, access to bikes and a quiet summer house, perfect for enjoying the surroundings from.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We would like a house sitter with references and a police check.
Our cats are very important to us so genuine animal lovers only, please.
Our cleaner will visit once a fortnight as well as our gardener.
There isn't much public transport in the village so you will probably want your own car.
We have flexibility with dates - either a shorter sit from 25th July-6th August or a longer sit until 16th August, but we would want to pop home for a couple of nights from 6th-9th. This would be an ideal opportunity for sitters to visit somewhere else locally for a couple of days or take a trip to London etc.

Wonderful pussycats and home in Cotswolds
An outstanding housesit experience in Katie and John’s beautiful home, they made us feel extremely welcome from the moment we arrived with delicious homemade apple cake and rhubarb syrup to enjoy during our stay. During our initial WhatsApp call Katie and John made it clear they wanted us to care for their house and their two adorable pussycats and communication was prompt and easy from then on. We arrived late afternoon and were introduced to Monkey and Buster, two very friendly and clearly well cared for and loved cats. We were given a tour of the house and gardens, a detailed ‘housesitter’ guide was provided and we immediately settled in, introduced ourselves to the neighbours and felt comfortably at home. The house, gardens and location are all wonderful with the added bonus of glorious views from the absolutely stunning bedroom and a wonderful summerhouse to rest your legs after a day out. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Kingswood, the local towns and villages are all worth visiting and the walking and tea shops were great. There is a small Spar shop within 5 mins walk and plenty of larger supermarkets within 15 min drive. We can certainly recommend this house sit, and Katie and John to any prospective housesitters, and we thank them both very much for the opportunity.
