About this assignment
Someone trustworthy and reliable. We have a friendly German shepherd who is well trained but is strong, especially if she sees a cat! Experience with larger dogs is necessary. She’s also an experienced runner so if you are too she’d love to accompany you across the fells.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Looking after our house while we are away and making sure our well trained German Shepherd gets lots of cuddles :) She is trained to run on a canicross lead, so if you are a runner, then she’s the perfect running partner!
What are the good features of the property and location
The Home Valley where we live is beautiful and home of Last Of The Summer Wine. We have a large house with a gorgeous view and a large garden with a swing seat and plenty of areas to sit in the sun.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
This is a family home and a family pet so the safety of our dog is paramount. Please look after our house and belongings and leave the house as you find it - or cleaner!

Lovely dog and family in a great part of the world
I stayed with Cleo for just under a couple of weeks in, and it was a pleasure to spend time with such a lovely natured, playful and trained dog. Kirsty and her family are great, she kindly left a very comprehensive document of important things for any prospective sitter. In addition there was some basic plant watering to do. The house is situated such that I didn't need any transport for walks - a recreation ground opposite and some heath and woodland just up the hill. Buses were regular enough for me to visit other parts of West Yorks after morning exercise, and get back for a late afternoon or evening walk. Their house is very comfortable, with a large enough garden to play in with Cleo if the weather puts you off going further afield. Cleo is trained in basic commands but is strong and energetic and needs someone with a firm and confident hand on the lead. As we got to know each other, it was a privilege to spend time together. She is also familiar with patterns of home working, so I was able to get a morning and afternoon shift of reading and editing done without interruption. If you like joyful, playful company in beautiful surroundings, I recommend.

Wolfie Snuggles
We really enjoyed sitting for Kirsty and looking after the beautiful Cleo. She is a beautiful dog, so strong but totally soppy. She was super well-behaved off the lead and when we took her to a local pub etc. and always demanded a space next to you on the sofa in the evenings for snuggles. She is a big dog but so gentle and affectionate. She is totally obsessed with playing "fetch" and runs like a racehorse! Kirsty's house is beautiful - spacious, comfortable and well-equipped with a lovely garden and incredible views. Her whole family is warm and friendly with her daughter giving up her room for my little girl and her parents meeting us at the handover with gifts for us. Such a lovely family! Holmfirth is great with lots of local hiking and all the facilities you need nearby.

Happy in Holmfirth
We really enjoyed looking after Cleo the beautiful black shepherd. She was full of energy and cuddles, and always made you feel like you were her best pal in the whole world. Kirsty and Adams home was very comfortable and the location was ideal for exploring southern Yorkshire. Kirsty left plenty of instructions and stayed in touch whilst they were away.
