About this assignment
We would love someone who enjoys relaxing and hanging out with two indoor cats who like to be fed, petted and played with.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
The house sitter would be responsible for feeding the cats ideally twice a day, brushing and playing with them, and cleaning their litter box. In addition they will need to occasionally water some indoor plants and outside plants in pots on our front and back decks.
What are the good features of the property and location
Our house is small, bright, and comfortable, with good internet access but otherwise low tech and requiring minimal maintenance. The house has a spacious, green and private backyard. We are located in a NE Seattle residential neighborhood with a bus line that connects to the light rail system, and are close to some stores, restaurants and the University of Washington.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We've had several cat-sitters over the years who have enjoyed our cats, who are independent but affectionate. While the cats appreciate their consistent routines when possible, it's also easy to enjoy the amenities of our pleasant and safe neighborhood, the nearby University District, downtown Seattle and the surrounding area.

Quiet comfortable respite with Eliza and Anjelica
October 5th, Two thousand and twenty-six Methinks I have found the ideal placement for a housesitter seeking a quiet, comfortable respite in the coastal colony of Washington. I cared for this estate while the masters of the estate were journeying away and they called for a faithful steward to tend their hearth. Should you take up this post, your days will be spent in leisure, save for a few gentle duties. The Sacred Duties of the Household My primary charge as housesitter was the care of two gentle indoor creatures—Anjelica and Eliza -felines of the house who required regular devotion. Daily tasks included: • The Feeding: Providing sustenance unto these gorgeous "queens" twice daily, ideally at sunrise and twilight. • The Comforting: Bestowing upon them regular stroking, brushing of their coats, and playful amusement to keep their spirits high. • The Cleansing: Maintaining the cleanliness of their indoor soil box daily. • The Husbandry: Tending to the flora. I occasionally fetched water for the indoor houseplants, as well as the potted greenery resting upon the front and rear wooden decks. Amenities of the Estate & Lands The property itself is a modest but wondrously fair haven, offering great comfort with minimal labor: • The Dwelling: A small, wondrously bright, and cozy cottage. It is a low-tech sanctuary requiring very little maintenance, yet it possesses a magical, high-speed connection to the modern wires of communication (the "internet"). • The Grounds: A spacious, lush, and exceedingly private rear courtyard. Tucked within the greenery is a simple, bubbling hot tub of warm waters for your relaxation. • The Parish: Situated in a peaceful residential neighborhood in the Northeast quarter of the Seattle settlement. • The Carriage Lines: A public omnibus line convenient to local taverns and shops. Soft delights in Seattle
I enjoyed my stay at Kevin and the wonderful cats house in Seattle. I was there for 2 weeks. Kevin was great to communicate with and made it easy for me to arrive. All of the printed instructions and recommendations for the area were so helpful. The kitchen had everything I needed to make meals at home. The bed was comfy and home was cozy and welcoming. The 2 cats were the best. Soft furry bundles of love. Easy to get around the area and plenty of great neighborhood walks. Yes to this pets it!

What a wonderful 3 week sitting in Seattle ...
... at Kevin and Julia's place. Kevin and Julia are very welcoming and friendly, and we got along great right away. We even had the chance to meet them in person at the airport when they left for their vacation and we arrived to take care for their lovely furballs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kevin and Julia’s place. Their sister cats, Angelica and Eliza, are the fluffiest cats you will ever experience. They didn’t lose time to get their attention when we first arrived. Moreover, both furballs are very calm and chilled out except when it’s time for food and snacks. They definitely make sure to remind you that it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner time—but in such a sweet way that you can’t resist loving them even more. And we also loved it so much to cuddle with them during the day and especially when we sat on the couch watching a movie, they were always by our side or even on our lap. The place itself has everything you would expect in a home, including a small green backyard. It is cozy inside, outside you have a small green backyard and if you are into reading, they have a lot of books :). It is in a residential area close to University of Washington, with ample public transport and grocery stores within walking distance. Also make sure to explore the area around Green Lake for a walk, run, or picnic. We’d truly recommend sitting for Kevin and Julia’s furry queens, and of course we’d love to come back as well—already missing the fluffiness of Angelica & Eliza.
