About this assignment
We have one dog who loves company and playing games. We would really like someone who is great with dogs and who will keep him company.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Feeding, watering and caring for our dog. Placing (and removing) the trash and recycling containers on the street one day a week. Enjoying the Los Angeles sunshine!

Sun-filled, detached house in the hills of Los Angeles, with plenty of outdoor space and a great pool. Quiet neighborhood, close to many activities, shopping, walking and hiking trails,
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We would be very happy to meet you before we leave on vacation and show you around, introduce you to the dog and give you lots of advice about fun things to do in Los Angeles.

An amazing stay
We had the privilege of housesitting for Jennie and Mike over the 2023 Christmas period and it was absolutely wonderful. Jennie and Mike are amazing and generous hosts, and made us feel so welcomed and at home. From the moment I first spoke to Jennie, it was so easy and we couldn’t wait to meet them in person. They are so friendly and approachable and they made the whole housesitting experience a complete joy. Their home in LA is beautiful and in a great spot for local attractions as well as nature trails for walking, supermarkets, restaurants, etc. We were provided with a clear and organised handover and Jennie and Mike provided lots of local information which was really helpful. Given their location, we were able to explore the wider LA area but the highlight of our time was looking after their gorgeous dog Harry. Harry is the sweetest boy, very easy going and affectionate. We loved going for walks in the hills with him and curling up on the couch at night for a cuddle. He was such a character and so well behaved, we miss him so much. If you are fortunate to have the opportunity to housesit for Jennie and Mike, you will love your time there and we highly recommend it. We can’t wait to one day return to LA to see them all again.

Great Hosts, Pet, and Home in the Sun
My wife Judy and I spent three weeks at Jennie and Mike's home. They are gracious, welcoming hosts. We felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. They provided clear, written instructions and reviewed them with us before they left. They also made sure we had some neighbors' contact information. Jennie and mike very kindly provided us with provisions so that we didn't have to rush out to the market--incredibly thoughtful! During our stay we had a few questions and they provided quick email answers. Harry, their dog, is a lovely boy. He's polite, obedient, and very funny. He loves his treats, his walks, his meals, and his humans (not necessarily in that order). He's a joy to care for, and a great foot warmer--he likes to sit on the footstool when his humans are on the sofa . . . but he always asks permission. Jennie and Mike told us Harry could be reactive to large dogs, but he was a perfect gentleman--he never pulled on the leash, and rarely barked at other dogs (but he''s a very good doorbell). He's always up for a game of fetch, but happy to amuse himself in the yard if you're busy. Truly, spending time with Harry was the highlight of our stay Jennie and Mike's home is spacious, bright, and comfortable with a magnificent yard and pool. It is in a great location with incredible views. The neighborhood is lovely, and the people we met on our walks were friendly and their dogs well-behaved. Ubers are easy to come by if you prefer not to drive all the time. The Getty Center--a must-see--is only eight miles away. We’ve been pet and housesitting for a decade, and I can't remember another where the hosts, their home, and their pet came together to create such a wonderfully memorable experience. Thanks, Jennie and Mike; we'd be delighted to return!
