What we are looking for in a home sitter is a person (or more than one) who can take care of our home (living it and treating it with respect and love) and of our farm when we are away. Above all, take care of the animals (rabbits, and cat) by feeding and drinking them every day and cleaning the cages at least once a week. But if you are also interested in something else, we have small activities that can be done when we are not there.
Feed and take care of Marù, the cat, Collect fruit and vegetables and enjoy them , Enjoy the farm and the countryside in the meantime we are away
- 6 hectares of Maremma countryside (olive grove, alfalfa fields, a small vineyard, two food forests, a small vegetable garden, free animals and in rabbit hutches/chickens, saltwater pool ...
- our house consists of two bedrooms, one double and one for our child, a study, living and dining rooms, kitchen, two bathrooms.
- washing machine, dishwasher, dryer
- daily assistance for animals
- eventuality of unforeseen events to resolve - we will leave you a contact list of professionals, emergency numbers and more.
- so much possibility to relax !
No, sorry.

A beautiful time at Al Podere dei Nonni!
We had an absolutely wonderful time caretaking Irene and Peter’s house and creatures at their beautiful farm and agriturismo in the Marrema region. They are incredibly kind and generous people and made certain that our little family had everything we needed during the month plus of housesitting for them. We arrived a day ahead of their departure, and they gave us a wonderfully helpful walkthrough of the farm and showed us how to feed and tend to the animals, as well as how to manage the house. They fed us and took time to connect ahead of leaving on their trip, which was so appreciated and helpful. The animals are all wonderful and simple to take care of. Our daughter embraced the driving of the wheelbarrow for collecting greens and hay and loved her part on an Italian farm. Marú is as sweet of a cat as you can hope to find, and we are still missing her a lot. The setting for the farm is idyllic, nestled in the midst of beautiful, hilly fields and olive groves. We grocery shopped in Grosseto, just a short drive away, and made several trips to lovely places around the region. We had great and consistent communication with Irene and Peter during our time there. They were always quick to respond and so helpful in answering any questions we had. We also had the pleasure of getting to know Irene’s parents, who came to visit the farm a couple of times while we were there. They are also incredibly kind, and it was a joy to meet them and appreciated their conversation and support. The time at Irene and Peter’s farm was truly a gift for us, and we hope for the chance to return someday to see these friends again. We highly recommend them to others on this platform as well!
