. Uk based dog loving sitters ( suit couple preferably)

About this assignment

Hi I am looking for a local or Uk based sitters for a dog lover first and foremost( a couple would be great) as I have 2 lovely dogs who need looking after when I go away for weekends or holidays.. this sit would suit someone ( or a couple ) quiet, gentle and calm who just wants to relax as that’s my girls vibe ( except for a couple of mad playtimes for the jack Russel! ) They are getting on in age and low maintenance and like to be walked twice a day, and left alone for no longer than 4/5 hours max. I need someone used to older dogs as one has medications twice a day and due to past back issues must be lifted on and off sofas, beds and carried up and down stairs; we have a stair gate as she gets up but can’t get herself down again ? ( she walks fine it’s just a precaution) and who will care for them like their own. For this sit someone I could meet first would be great to show around the house and area.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The main responsibilities will be to walk , care for , cuddle feed and water the dogs and give medication.A 14 year old terrier/chihuahua and a 12 year old jack russell. They are low maintenance girls , the older girl sleeps ( and snores) most of the day .I expect the house to be kept clean and tidy and secure. You will have your own room and private bathroom and full run of the house and outdoor space for alfresco sitting. Absolutely no guests please. Your main responsibility is to keep the girls happy and safe, ...would suit someone working from home and proficient in giving tablets ( in cheese !) and sticking to a routine.

What are the good features of the property and location

My house is situated in a quiet street in Clapham within walking distance to great shops,bars, restaurants , pubs, parks , cinemas , and transport straight into Waterloo and Victoria.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Just that you will have to be around for the dogs as I do not want them left alone any longer than 4-5 hours and one has medications at 8 am ish then fed about 60 minutes later then fed at 4 pm then tablets again at 8pm ish
No need to take them out apart from their walks as Bella doesn’t like loud places…and treacle likes to sleep ! but that will give you ample time to do local things . It is a great place to chill out and relax and indulge in the local culture. Fantastic transport services into the city centre for quick skips to look around .Would suit someone who is happy to stay in the area .They get walked at 8/9am then again at 2/3, for 30 minutes or so each time, mainly play ball to wear the jack russell out and for toilet break., they usually come back and sleep. There is a small park 3 minutes away which is perfect for 30 minutes of ball throwing or 2 large parks for longer walks.. We have a paved area at the back where I let them out first thing , during the day and in the evening for wees and poohs, especially before you go to bed. ( you will need to clean this area daily, pick up poo and throw a bucket of hot soapy water out, easy, peasy ) The older dog finds it hard to walk sometimes ( sore pads/ arthritis) but she has a dog pram ! . The jack russel is a little pocket rocket , very smart and very sweet who understands everything, she takes herself off for peace and quiet, usually my bed when she’s had enough She also likes being under covers blankets etc so don’t sit down before checking . On walks just be vigilant as there’s always scraps of food on pavements that they would snaffle up if you don’t pull them away and glass which is a problem,and obviously be aware of other dogs.
