Quiet countryside farmhouse outside of Albany NY, cats & chickens

About this assignment

We are looking for someone who likes quiet, comfort, and nature, and loves animals. They must be trustworthy and respectful of our home. Responsibilities are light.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

We have two friendly male cats and 15 chickens. They are all fairly easy to deal with, responsibilities include:
Daily feeding and watering of the chickens. Litter box maintenance and auto feeder replenishment as necessary for the cats.
Sitter will be responsible for basic home cleaning as needed through their stay.
Texts with us every few days to make sure everything is going well.

What are the good features of the property and location

Beautiful restored farmhouse in a country setting overlooking a creek with many nearby hiking trails, as well as some trails through the property. Nature sightings will abound! High speed wifi, central heat and AC on a smart thermostat, fully equipped kitchen, plenty of sunny and comfortable rooms to hang out in. King sized memory foam mattress in bedroom. Beautiful new back deck for lounging and dining. 45 minutes from Albany, NY. Many cute villages, farmstands, breweries and eateries in the area. We also have a charger for electric vehicles that could be made available. Our area is quiet, but very safe with neighbors nearby who look out for eachother.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We live out in the country so there are not a lot of stores or restaurants in the immediate area, although there are plenty of them in the Albany area, a 45 minute drive away, and there are quaint villages with some amenities (Middleburgh, Schoharie) about 15 minutes away. A vehicle is highly recommended.
