Cat and Dog are looking for awesome pet/housesitter on Langeland

About this assignment

We are looking for a reliable, mature, experienced, non smoking and animal loving housesitter! Couples are very welcome! Ideally you speak english or german fluently and have (house sitter) experience with large dogs.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

To care for our 4 year old Golden Retriever Caesar and 14 year old Ocicat Kiya,(our cat is an indoor cat only!) in our old villa with a large backyard . Priority are our animals, eg that they are not left alone for longer periods (more than 4-5 hours!) They are both very affectionate and get on very well with each other. Caesar needs regular walks or plays. He hates bad weather and when it is heavily raining he will only go out quickly to do his business and then rush back to the sofa or in front of the wood heater. Both have special food and get fed throughout the day with small meals. Caesar is well trained and walks well on the leash. Caesar currently requires ear cleaning solution applied once a week. He tolerates it very well. We will show you, how to do it. Kiya is very affectionate and loves cuddles. Both sleep on sofas and sometimes in the bed!
Also :
- mowing of our lawn once or twice during the stay (It will be freshly cut before I go)
- watering of indoor plants once a week
-watering outdoor pot plants (requires approx 8x filled Watering cans , takes about 20 minutes) depending on weather, when dry and hot daily….

What are the good features of the property and location

Our house is in the north of Langeland in a small harbour village. However you can walk/cycle to the local bakery and grocery shop. It is close to the forest, beach and local harbour. Rudkøbing is about 30 minutes by car or 40 min by bus. Langeland is connected via a bridge with Fyn.
The house is heated via central heating and wood heater. It has a large fenced backyard.There is also a gym about 8 minutes away by car.
Access to our car during your stay is possible.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We are looking for a house sitter in May/ June and ideally you would arrive a couple of days or a day before the housesit eg 23.05. Lohals and Langeland are very quiet and peaceful in the wintertime. And it slowly ‘wakes up’ with more tourists during Spring. If you are interested, we would love to get to know you in person or via a facetime call as soon as possible as our initial housesitter arrangement has fallen through.
