About this assignment
Our house-sitter/s should love the quiet of rural settings and love cats. They should also have a driver's licence and if they don't have their own car, be able to drive a car with a manual gear-box.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
The main responsibility is to take care of our six cats - three of whom live indoors and outdoors and to water a few indoor plants.
What are the good features of the property and location
The house is a charming 19th century former farmhouse with big gardens and open fields on two sides, in a very pretty rural setting in the Morvan natural regional park, in the heart of Burgundy. We are on the edge of the village, a 5-minute walk to the bakery, mini-supermarket, cafe, restaurant, and cinema. It's very quiet, there are plenty of good walking tracks, and the house is comfortably furnished, with traditional open-plan living area, two bedrooms downstairs and a very well-equipped kitchen. There is a good internet connection, Wi-Fi, smart TV, CD player, electric piano, and many books (in English, French, Italian).
We are less than an hour's drive from the lovely towns of Vezelay, Autun, Saulieu, Semur-en Auxois and Clamecy, to name a few, and 90 minutes from Dijon, Beaune, and Auxerre.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Potential house sitters should know that there is no public transport in or out of the village at all, so having your own car is best, but if necessary, we can lend you our car, which is a C3, with manual gear-box.
Also, we have no dishwasher!
Can I bring my own pets?
Yes
Restrictions: As long as the pet is cat friendly!
