About this assignment

We are a aged 50+ couple with grown children. Husband works from home and from the shop in our back acreage. He is able to spend the days with the dogs. And I walk them every day off leash on various trails and side roads within a 1 minute drive from the house.
We are looking for someone who will spend time at home so the dogs are not left all day, every day. They are fine for extended periods, but ideally we would like an active person or couple who enjoy spending time in nature (which is all around us, in our little town) taking our 2 dogs for a walk (they are used to 30 - 90 min walks daily).

Hoping for a tidy person, who respects our space and treats our animals like the family members they are. Also, someone who is responsive to email or text communications if we needed to check in.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Care, feeding & exercising 2 dogs. Dogs are 8 and 11 years old. They love walks but they aren't necessary every day.

Our garden will be harvested and put to bed for the winter by the time we leave, so we would just need weekly watering of our indoor plants.

Pick up the mail once a week. Take out the recycling and/or garbage and compost to the curb for weekly pickup.

Be welcoming of dog cuddles and cat interactions.

What are the good features of the property and location

On low maintenance acreage, 5 minutes from beach and walking-biking trails. Close to town - 7 minute drive. Hot tub. People say our house has 'great vibes' and is cozy and peaceful. Great community with lots to do and see. We are in vacation wonderland!

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Dogs are very friendly. Will bark at the doorbell, or if a car comes into the driveway, but once they meet someone are very friendly.

We’d prefer sitter to have their own transportation so would need a car to drive dogs to walking paths and to get to town - but can make arrangements to loan ours if necessary.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
