We are looking for someone who is clean, responsible, non-smoking who can look after our dogs, plants, and home.
Maisy and Nikolai are young and healthy rescue pups from New Mexico, 5 and 6 yrs old. We are looking for people who are happy to be at home with them most of the time.
-Feed dogs in the morning and provide 1-2 walks.
-Control access to fenced yard surrounding the house-- they have a dog door that is only open when we are here. Nights it is closed.
-When you are away from the house, dogs are inside with dog door closed. They should not be left in the house over 6 hrs.
-Control access to studios/vineyard for dogs. This lower area is gated and we keep it closed off to dogs unless we are down there with them.
-We do have potted plants, indoors and out, that will need watering.
We have a cozy 3bed/2bath home located on a ridge surrounded by vineyards and other agricultural land. Views to the west for sunsets. Master bedroom with King bed and attached, remodelled, bath w/shower. 2nd bath has tub+shower. We have fiber internet, a large TV with iptv, heat/AC, washer and dryer, espresso machine, hotpot, and microwave in an updated kitchen.
Below the house we have a nicely remodelled building which houses 2 artist studios, with a patio and garden. The studios have a glass-enclosed sitting area with views to garden and surrounding fields. Our fenced property extends below the studios and includes fruit trees and a vineyard.
Our property is very private and quiet. We do have neighbors, but none adjoining. It is a wonderful place to relax and get plenty of sun and fresh air.
Sitters will need a car. The closest town for shopping and restaurants, Cartaxo, is :15 away. The train station connecting to Lisbon (south) and Tomar (north) is :20 away.
Our dogs, as rescues, do have psychological challenges: Maisy is very shy of humans (but she does warm up), Niko is dog reactive. In our area, houses have multiple dogs in a fenced yard that bark like crazy when you walk by. Niko does not do well with this, which is why we drive to our walking roads. Walks are always leashed and on tractor roads through farmland. As an alternative, walking through the vineyard with them will suffice. Off leash, and full of interesting smells for them.
No, sorry.
