About this assignment
A person or couple who will care for our 2 cats (Maggie-11year old tuxedo; and Red-10 year old); who will respect our home and belongings and enjoy our beautiful property.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Feed and love the cats, scoop cat box daily.
Take care of light home responsibilities, i.e. bring in mail and deliveries, etc.
Enjoy staying at our home.
What are the good features of the property and location
Located 10 miles north of Durango CO - 30 miles from Silverton - in the San Juan mountains. Our 3 acre property is completely fenced and gated on a dead end county road with ample views of surrounding mountains. It's very quiet and relaxing, with abundant old Ponderosa Pines, and is bordered by Hermosa Creek, which runs year round.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
1. Non-smokers only.
2. Could be cold here with lots of snow that time of the year.
3. Ski area is within 15 minutes from here-Purgatory Ski Area.

Durango Co.-cat sit/ home on lovely property
Jim and Susan are a very friendly and fun couple. They are super nice and very enjoyable to get to know. I arrived the day before they left and we were able to go over the care of the cats and home. Written instructions were provided as well. I had the pleasure of caring for their 2 cats, Maggie and Red. The cats are super sweet, easy going and laid back. Caring for them is basically feeding, cleaning the litter box and a little playtime. There were a few plants to water and once a week taking the trash out. Communication was excellent via text messaging. The home and property is absolutely beautiful! There are mountains in all directions and a flowing creek on the back property. Just sitting on the deck reading a book is so relaxing. The area is very safe and a remote/code was used to enter so access is limited by others. Durango is an outdoor paradise offering hiking, biking, rafting, etc. I would highly recommend this sit especially if you like the outdoors. Thanks for allowing me to sit for and care for your sweet cats!
