About this assignment
Hi Sitters! I am looking for a mature, reliable and trustworthy person or 2 people to care for my 3 small dogs for 2 weeks.
Arrive a day or two before I leave to settle in and get to know the dogs a bit.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
- Have a calm energy. Be the pack leader.
- Walk dogs twice a day, morning and evening. Walks are very important. Due to the heat walks must be morning and evening, unless it's a rare cloudy day!
Dogs overheat quickly.
- Feed dogs once a day. Food will be pre-prepared.
- Water plants on terrace once a week with hosepipe.
- Communicate daily with some pictures and a message to let me know how it's going.
- Dogs only to be left for short periods.
- Keep house clean.
What are the good features of the property and location
Casa rustica on the outskirts of the village. Quiet and peaceful. Beautiful and very private terrace with a fantastic view of the Sierra Nevada national park.
South facing but with some shade.
Chairs, table, recliner chairs and outdoor furniture to enjoy.
Double bedroom available for sitter that remains cool and a pleasant temperature all the time.
No air conditioning but fans available. Unlikely you will need them in June.
Kitchen with gas cook top, microwave available if required, fridge freezer, pots and pans and well equipped.
Cosy sitting room with TV.
Bathroom with hot water.
Washing machine in laundry room and washing line for drying clothes.
Separate dining room or office.
No wifi, Easy to work with phone hotspot. 4g or 5g excellent so streaming all day no problem.
Lots of seating areas inside and outside.
Walking distance to shops, bars, restaurants.
Bike available.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Experience caring for dogs is a big plus and someone who enjoys going for walks.
If you don't have a vehicle, I have a bicycle here to use to cycle to the shop. There is a decent size carrefour express that stocks everything.
Fiñana is a sweet, quiet village that has cafes, bars, restaurants and a good variety of shops.
I am happy to drive you to the nearest big town to do a better priced shop before I leave if you don't drive.

Lovely dogs & house sit in Wexford
I really enjoyed my first house sit looking after Alex's beautiful little dogs Kriya and Bella. They are both so sweet and well behaved, great to hang out with and take for walks. The house is large and a lovely space located on a quiet country lane. I enjoyed sitting by the fire in the evening and Alex kindly provided me with plenty of coal. There is a big garden for the dogs to run around and some of beautiful spots to visit nearby if you have transport. Communication with Alex was great, she gave me a straight forward list of instructions, talked me through everything before she left and was always on hand to answer any questions. She loves and cares for her dogs really well so they are both happy and healthy. Bella is docile and very loving and likes to be close to you, Kriya is more playful and adventurous and loves to find sticks - the bigger the better! They are both a joy to be around. I really enjoyed meeting Alex, she is a down to earth, kind and generous person and I appreciate her trust in me!
