St. Louis house in vibrant and safe city area

About this assignment

I am looking for a gentle, quiet person to care for my home and my indoor cat. I have a tortoise shell cat who usually hides from people. She hates being alone but she also hates people she doesn't know. I need someone patient who might bring Spooky out of her shell or at least let her know she is not being neglected while I'm away.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Cat sitting: One cat, two litter boxes, canned and dry food.
House sitting: Just a few houseplants, maybe some outdoor garden watering if it doesn't rain. General cleaning up after yourself.

What are the good features of the property and location

I live in a cool neighborhood in South City within walking distance of Tower Grove Park with basketball, tennis and pickleball courts, farmer's market, bike and walking paths, and friendly people. I'm also within walking distance of many pubs and restaurants but my street is quiet. I've got kind neighbors who will be available to you, and native plant gardens in both the front and back yards. Detached garage is available if you have a car. Two story house with home alarm system.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

You MUST have experience with cats, enough to know how to approach, coax, and/or soothe a cat who doesn't easily trust people. I am a quiet person and she is used to a calm home environment. (No parties!) Full disclosure: My kitty can also become briefly aggressive (scratch and/or bite and then run away) but I'll have her claws trimmed before you arrive!
