About this assignment

We're looking for a couple who love dogs to come and care for our very sweet rescue dog, Daisy.
Ideally people who love the countryside, nature and peaceful village life.
Car essential, due to the location.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The main responsibility is taking good care of Daisy. She is a really lovely dog, who wants nothing more than a walk and lots of attention. We would love for the housesitters to take her for day trips out and about and walks as often as possible. Unfortunately, she is a rescue dog and cannot be left alone as she gets very anxious. However one of our neighbours will be around to help out. It would also be great if someone could try and keep the house plants alive.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our village is in a very rural location on the Portugal / Spain border. Perfect for hiking, cycling and exploring the medieval villages in the area. It's very peaceful and everyone here is very friendly. We moved here from the UK a year ago and have been welcomed with open arms!
We are 10 minutes drive from a small local supermarcado, pharmacy and ATM. 25 minutes to the nearest Intermarche. And 50 minutes from Guarda city.
We have a 3 bed house, with a large garden. We only bought the property a year ago, so are still working on some of the interior and the garden - please don't judge us on the bad taste tiles in the kitchen!
We have a very good wifi connection and an office set up for 2 people, so it's great for remote working.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The rural location, you will need a vehicle, but we have plenty of space for a car or campervan.
It's a very small (40 people) village most of the year, with us being the only English speakers. However, in July and August, a lot of people come to enjoy the slightly cooler weather and a break from the cities, many of whom speak English and/or French alongside Portuguese.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
