Oliver needs a companion Sept 1-17

About this assignment

Reliable and responsible single or couple who live to snuggle with Oliver, our 3 year old, 15 lb. very loving and rambunctious “boodle” - a mini poodle/Bichon frisé mix. Someone who loves nature and water (we live in the woods on a private lake).

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Take Oliver on 2 walks daily. One in the morning sometime between 7 and 9 and one in the afternoon around 4 (usually joining the local puppy party nearby which is a hoot). He’s used to walking 2-3 miles a day although he’ll do more if it’s not too hot. Outside of that he just wants to snuggle with you on the recliners or in bed. You can leave him by himself for up to 5 hours or he’s a good traveler and loves to hike. We have some friends who have his favorite friend Violet at their home and they he’ll be staying with them Friday nights thru Sunday afternoon so you’d be free to travel around wherever you want.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Be prepared to relax and enjoy the fall foliage in historical Blue Ridge Mountain wine country (the eastern Napa Valley) with great neighbors. Boating, swimming, fishing, & golfing are right here at your fingertips.
Thomas Jefferson’s Monticelllo estate is 10 minutes away and Madison and Monroe’s estates are very close also. And there is Charlottesville’s which has lots of music venues and great restaurants along with the University of Virginia.
