About this assignment

We need a responsible reliable animal loving house sitter to take care of our 3 dogs and 2 horses while we are away. We are looking for someone who really cares about animals and gets satisfaction from looking after their needs. Someone who treats them as individuals and is happy to give them a hug and spend time with them.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

House sitter will need to feed our dogs mornings and evenings. Take our dogs for walks and give them hugs. Our horses live out but need to be feed twice a day. They will need to have their feet picked out and water trough topped up daily. The paddock will also need to be poo picked daily. They will need to have rugs put on or taken off depending on the weather and in the summer they will need to wear fly masks during the day and have fly repellent applied daily.

What are the good features of the property and location

We live in a characterful property with stunning views over the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The oldest part of our house comprising the sitting room and dining area dates back to the 1800s and has a cozy wood burner, perfect for lazy nights in. We have a bright and pleasant sun room as well as a large annex with music studio. Our comfortable guest room overlooks the stable block and the hills beyond. The whole property is located on a 5 acre plot and an abundance of wild life frequently visits our garden.
Our house is only 7 miles from the picturesque and historic market town of Ludlow with its wealth of independent shops and antique stores. Ludlow also has a variety of restaurants and a weekly street market selling local produce and arts and crafts as well as several cultural events such as music festivals and food fares throughout the year. Other local places of interest are Church Stretton in the heart of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where you will find the National Trust's Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd. About 40 minutes away lies the Market town of Shrewsbury and the Stiperstones National Nature Reserve. There is just so much to see and do here, if you love the countryside you will love Shropshire.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Our property is in a very quiet rural location so if you want enjoy the hustle and bustle of city life this is not the right place for you. This house sit would suite someone who is active, confident, independent, adventurous and who enjoys their own company.
