About this assignment

We are looking for a mature couple who enjoys nature and animals and will take care of our home on a 40 acre property, 3 horses and 3 cats while we are away.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Responsibilities include feeding horses twice daily, picking up manure where they stay overnight, and care of the horses. The horses are out on the pasture during the day and have a self-serve waterer. Horse experience is necessary.
Feeding, watering, cleaning litter boxes and care of 2 house cats and 1 barn cat. The house cats have an automatic feeder. Care of the house, watering of house plants and monitoring the automatic irrigation system. Property maintenance if necessary e.g. fix interior electric fence.

What are the good features of the property and location

The property is located on a dirt road. Lots of wildlife like pronghorn, deer, elk, coyotes and birds are either on the property or in plain sight. Easy access while rural. Many typical Colorado outdoor activities are close by. Biking from the property and hiking within a 5 min drive.It's about an hour drive into the high mountains and endless hiking.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We prefer a mature couple that owns a home or has owned a home in the past. Must have your own vehicle while you are on our property, garage space is available. The property is not in a neighborhood, shopping is about 15 minutes away. Guest room with separate bath room and closet. An office is available if needed. Property has security cameras.
