About this assignment
We are looking for reliable and trustworthy fit mature person/couple, able to exercise our three year old and seven year old dogs and take good care of our family home.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Taking good care of our two dogs (three and seven years old)and watering plants. Collecting the mail and ensuring property is safe. Keeping house in good order.
What are the good features of the property and location
Fantastic friendly neighborhood set in the foothills by Golden, Colorado, Close to Red Rocks Amphitheater and short drive to Golden and downtown Denver.
Neighborhood gym and pool free to use.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Reliability and genuine willingness to care for my dogs, including feeding and exercising them, as well as giving attention and cuddles. Needs to be trustworthy and willing for neighbors to check in from time to time.
Can I bring my own pets?

Thank goodness for the altitude! It was cool "in the hills."
We enjoyed a short stay at Lynn and her husband's home. Their home is in the hills above Golden and much cooler. That is a definite summer plus! Their two dogs, Rudy and Freddie, are well-trained and easy to care for. They had a few tussles, but a time-out works wonders ... :-) ... Lynn was great about staying in touch before and during the house sit. She gave us a good overview of "care and feeding" of both the house and the dogs, and we were able to walk two dog-walk routes with her. Lynn also left us with several brochures about surrounding area hikes. We hiked at least one route every day and took Freddie and Rudy with us on one of those hikes. A highlight was the Genesee Mt. Tr./American Bison Tr. Loop around the Genesee Bison herd paddocks. We didn't see bison, but the (?)5-mile(?) hike is not difficult, mostly shaded in the tall pines throughout the morning, and beautiful. Last but not least, Lynn and her family have lived an adventurous and welcoming life and have wonderful stories to tell. I wish my husband and I had had more time to just sit and chat with them. Good people.

Really fun time!
Lovely family, lovely doggies. Best of times were the great walks, we even went three times a day a few times! I have pictures of deer, elk, and squirrels just feet away. Thanks for having us, good luck with your future plans!

Genesee Co. -- dog sit
Lynn, Rich and kids are a very nice, friendly and pleasant family. I was able to arrive the day before they left and Lynn provided detailed instructions for care of home and dogs, Rudy and Freddie. The two dogs are walked twice a day so Lynn was able to take me on their routine walking path. In the a.m. walk they have the opportunity to run freely in a large open area and in the evening walk they stay on leash. Both dogs are sweet, behave and listen well. They are well trained. The home is in a safe and quiet neighborhood with mountain views. A gym and neighborhood pool is available for use. There is an abundance of outdoor activities, hiking, biking and tubing. Lots to explore in Golden and the Buffalo Bill museum, Boettcher mansion, Lookout mountain and Genesee park (herd of buffalo) are nearby. One morning a herd of Elk grazed in their backyard! This was a very enjoyable sit and I highly recommend especially if you like the outdoors.
