Semi-longterm sitters requested (couple preferred) for Scottish cottages

About this assignment

I’m looking for a dynamic and lively person (preferably a couple) who are passionate in welcoming people! Essentially, I’m looking to make contact with a trustworthy and loyal house sitter who are open to becoming caretakers of my self-catering cottages. Are you interested to enjoy living peacefully in a very rural part of Scotland equipped with all modern day amenities while helping us run our cottages in exchange for rent-free lodging? A basic good housekeeping skills and an open heart and a friendly persona is all we ask for!

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Now we won’t beat around the bush but you’d be helping us do the changeovers for each guests. No admin necessary! The bulk of the job would be cleaning - including but not limited to linens, towels and the cottages. It could possibly get busy in the summer months but really quiet in others. But in return, you won’t have to pay rent and you would be free to spend all your own time as you wish which could either be for your own work or for exploring Kintyre!

What are the good features of the property and location

Do you know how the story goes in movies where a boy/girl from the city is inadvertently forced to upturn their life only to land in a small Scottish town but usually ends up falling in love with the place and decides to settle down forever? Well, now this is your chance for that same “fairytale”! But seriously, you’ll have a 2-bedroom cottage equipped with all the necessities and even a log burner (the only cottage that features this!). The property is rural yes, but it’s also 3km from Campbeltown and 5km from stunning beaches and golf courses. Kintyre is a beautiful, unspoilt part of Scotland, rich in heritage and wildlife and the cottages sit in a very peaceful and tranquil site surrounded by farmland. What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The main thing to consider is the location - it is rural and a 2.5hour drive from the nearest major city and railway networks. There is a weekday aircraft service to Glasgow but no ferry and just a single road in and out. Fret not though as the nearest town is Campbeltown and it's 10 min drive from the property. There you'll find a small but lively hub with interesting offers such as a sports centre, a cinema, supermarkets, cafes and a welcoming community. While it’s not a requirement, having your own car/transport will be very useful in this sense.
