About this assignment
Friendly, tidy and thrust worthy people that would like to watch our two kind little cats. Happy if you will also take care of my plants. Non smokers is preferred.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Take care of the cats and make sure they have food, water and cuddles. Also nice if you could take in the mail, water plants inside the house.
What are the good features of the property and location
Sandefjord is a beautiful coastal town, with the ocean and city center just a short walk from the house. You’ll find beaches, restaurants, museums, and plenty of cultural attractions close by. For a day trip, Oslo is only 1.5 hours away by train, making it easy to explore the capital as well.
The area also offers excellent opportunities for outdoor activities, with forests, hiking trails, and scenic landscapes right at your doorstep. In autumn, the surroundings are especially stunning, with colorful foliage and crisp, fresh air — perfect for walks and enjoying nature at its best.
Adding to the charm, several Viking burial sites are within walking distance from the house, giving you a chance to step right into Norway’s fascinating history.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Might be good to have a rental car. We have bicycles available, but might be good to have a car if you want to explore a bit more. The cats are able to be alone for one night but we prefer that they are not alone for more then one night.

After a short 10-day stay in Kristine’s beautiful house in the south of Norway, we came back to Warsaw with our hearts full of wonderful memories. Lakris can be a bit shy, but if you truly love cats and know how to handle them, that won’t be a problem. Third, the place itself. Norway is sooo beautiful! What struck me the most was the combination of the forest full of mushrooms (just like in my home country) with the massive rocks, and the sea (completely unlike my home country). And, of course, the sunsets – unlike anywhere we’ve been before, simply otherworldly! Staying with Lakris and Popcorn in Sandefjord
I was very pleased to be chosen for this house sit. Kristine is a great communicator which made setting up the house sit very easy. When I arrived in Sandefjord Kristine and her family were welcoming and generous hosts. I really enjoyed meeting them and the conversations we had over the meals they prepared. Kristine gave very good information about the care of the cats, the house and the local area and we stayed in regular contact while they were away. Their home is comfortable, spacious, well equipped and practical, in a pleasant part of the city. I was able to cycle to shops and the coast and to walk from the house to explore woodlands with an interesting selection of archaeological sites. The cats, Lakris and Popcorn, were delightful. Popcorn is a laid back, friendly, softie who likes to sleep on your bed at night. Lakris, who has a sweet nature, is very active and takes more time to get to know you. I missed them after I left. I really appreciated this ideal opportunity to experience life in Norway in the company of two lovely cats.
