About this assignment

I live in a restoration medieval house in the centre of France, along with 3 cats and 3 white call ducks who live in the walled garden.

I am a wine guide in the Loire valley. Typically I am away for 2 days and one night and then my pets are okay on their own. But sometimes I have to be away for 2 to 4 nights and prefer to have someone staying and looking after my pets.

Many dates available, please enquire.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Feeding the cats and ducks in the morning and evening is required. Cuddles for the cats if they are inclined.

Both cats and ducks have dry food and water dispensers available to them all day. The cats require wet food each morning and evening. And the ducks require food topping up and treats morning and evening.

What are the good features of the property and location

The house is a restoration project, but it is solid, dry, warm and I am cosy living in it.
Currently though without hot running water and a shower. There is cold running water, an electric kettle for hot water and an outside private camping shower. The house does have a flushing toilet, electricity and very good WIFI/internet. It is a work in progress. Think glamping.

I am in the centre of France, near Bourges. There is a bus available to visit.
I also have a bike available to visit the local Noirlac Abbery and area, as well as the town of Saint Amand Montrond.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

This is not luxury accommodation, more glamping. But it is a simple stay, with lots of free time.
The animals are super easy to look after. The village has the basic amenities.
It is a quiet place, great for reading, relaxing, gardening, fishing or even working online.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
