Lake House near Granbury, TX

About this assignment

Trustworthy, honest, responsible, clean, non-smoker to look after all aspects of my lake house and guest house while I’m traveling. Previous experience preferred, but not required.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Keep me informed of any issues that may arise, coordinate service repairs if needed, water outside plants, and generally maintain both the main house and the guest “tiny” house.

What are the good features of the property and location

Both the main house and the guest house sit on Lake Granbury. The street is on a peninsula with the Brazos River across the street. Boat ramp is less than 1/4 mile down the street. The main house is small and easy to maintain (2 bedrooms, 1 bath). Guest house is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath tiny house. Go fishing in the backyard, roast marshmallows around the fire pit, grill burgers and have a picnic at the outdoor picnic table, and enjoy a glass of wine at sunset on the on the covered deck. Located just 9.5 miles from the beautifully romantic Granbury town square. Approximately 35 miles from Ft. Worth.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Because this is a house on the lake, there are lots of critters that may visit daily. Geese, ducks, birds (hawks, eagles, woodpeckers, and others), raccoons, armadillos, opossums, skunks, spiders, and other bugs. Cleaning spiderwebs around the outside of the house is almost a daily activity. Plants that deter mosquitoes have been planted around the back deck (lemongrass, citronella, rosemary, marigolds, etc.)
