About this assignment
A reliable, neat, and friendly couple, who enjoy walking or biking through nature, and who would be happy to take care of our house, garden, Hugo (our dog) and Jochem (our cat).
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
The most important thing is taking care of Hugo (the dog) and Jochem (the cat). Hugo loves to go out for a walk a couple of times per day. Jochem manages his own schedule and he can get in and out the house by himself. And like Hugo, he needs some food and loving attention from time to time.
The house and the garden don't require a lot of effort to take care of. It has been built in 2018, so everything is fairly new and modern.
What are the good features of the property and location
Our house was built in 2018 and is very comfortable. It has a large living area on the groud floor, where you can lounge, read a book, play the piano, watch TV, or pretend you are a celebrity chef and create amazing meals in the richly equipped kitchen. Three large sliding doors give access to the various terraces and the garden. And even when the doors are closed, you feel connected to the trees and the birds outside.
On the first floor are the bedrooms and bathrooms, and a room with a washer and dryer. There is also a rowing machine (water rower) for your daily exercise.
The house is situated in a residential neighborhood in a green and wooded area. It is adjacent to a nature reserve, where you can make beautiful walks or bike tours.
The center of the village is nearby, and several stores and (good) restaurants are within walking distance.
When you need the atmosphere of the big city, you can visit Eindhoven (known for Philips, DAF, and ASML), which is about 6 km away. It has a lot to offer; many stores, terraces, restaurants, cinemas, museums, etc.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We love our home and our animals very much. We like to get in touch with sitters who enjoy taking good care of them, and like to take responsibility for it.

I really enjoyed staying in the beautiful home of Rink and Sabine. Hugo, the dog, was very sweet and obedient. I loved taking him for walks in the nearby forest. He is well trained and very easy to handle. Jochem, the cat, behaved like all cats do. Sleeping during the day, going out at night. He enjoyed an occasional cuddle and liked his meal on time. I felt truly welcome, and it was reassuring that I could arrange someone to fill in if I wanted to be away for a day. Waalre is set in a lovely area for both cycling and walking, and the village has several good restaurants just a short walk away. To summarize, I can warmly recommend these homeowners.

A wonderful house sit
We had the privilege of housesitting for Rink and Sabine in July/August 2024 and it was absolutely wonderful. Rink and Sabine are amazing and generous hosts and made us feel so welcomed and at home. From the moment we first spoke to them, it was so easy and we couldn’t wait to meet them in person. They are so friendly and approachable and they made the whole housesitting experience a complete joy. Their home in Waalre is beautiful (as is Waalre itself) and in a great spot close to the main amenities such as supermarkets, restaurants etc and surrounded by lovely walking and biking tracks. We were provided with a clear and organised handover and shown around the area which was really helpful. We had a wonderful time getting to know their wider family and their neighbours and it was extra special getting to spend time with them going on walks and having meals together. We can’t stress enough just how friendly, and generous these people are, it was truly amazing and such a wonderful experience. A huge highlight was looking after their lovely dog Hugo and Jochem their cat. Hugo is a very sweet boy, very easy going and loves to go for walks. Jochem is lovely and also very easy going and he was happy to sit outside with us while we read books and enjoyed the beautiful backyard. If you are fortunate to have the opportunity to housesit for Rink and Sabine, you will love your time there and we highly recommend it as we had the best time. Thank you Rink, Sabine and the family, we can’t wait to one day return to Waalre to see you all again.
