About this assignment

Responsible, sensible, active, non smoking individual or couple, who will enjoy our home, location and keep our dogs happy (exercised and fed normally satisfies this requirement).
We haven't included dates for now as we are new to home sitters and hoping to gauge the response before committing to a trip. Ideally we would like to be away for a week to 10 days both mid May and early August.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Main responsibility is keeping the dogs happy, other than that treat the house in a manner that you'd like someone to treat yours.
Help yourself to any weeding, gardening jobs you fancy, or find a comfortable spot inside or out and relax.

What are the good features of the property and location

House is rural yet only an hour from both Edinburgh and Glasgow (by car or train). Large garden, conservatory and open fire for the colder nights. House is comfortable with central heating etc. cooking is via gas fired rayburn. Musicians will find a tuned baby grand. WiFi is okay for most requirements.
Sitter(s) will have guest bedroom with double bed.
Plenty of walking and cycling from the door. We have outside kennels, which the dogs are used to during the day if required (but not overnight!!)

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

No street lighting or pavement and out of town, so a car is probably a requirement. Nearest train station is 5km away, bus service is patchy.There is a corner shop, butchers and small Coop in the village (1km).
Dogs normally walk together so sitters should be comfortable with two large dogs on leads.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
