Semi-rural house with 2 friendly poodles, a cat and a few hens in Ballymena

About this assignment

We are seeking an animal lover who enjoys spending time with well behaved but energetic dogs, a cat and a few hens in a semi-rural setting in Ballymena.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Top up the dogs’ food when they run out and change water bowl daily.
Top up the cats dry food bowl and feed meat each morning. Clean cat litter daily with a full change twice a week.
Open the door for the hens each morning and close their door when they go to bed each evening.
Lock up the house when you go out.
Walk the dogs who are well trained and will happily explore as far you could possibly want to walk and then happily join you at dog friendly coffee shops etc, go for a drive or just chill at home.
Sort rubbish for recycling and put out bins for collection each week.

What are the good features of the property and location

The property has large windows that allow the occupants to take in the stunning views over the surrounding countryside. Although in a rural setting, you are close to conveniences with the closest village of Ahoghill a 30 minutes walk or 3 minute drive. There are at least 5 excellent walking trails within 20 minutes drive away that are along peaceful riverside paths or through forests with plenty of birds and other wildlife. (One walk is pictured). The hens will reward you with fresh eggs daily.
The Giant’s Causeway, Carrick-a-rede Ropebridge and the beaches of the North Coast are about 45 minutes drive from the house and Belfast International Airport is about 30 minutes drive away.
We have fibre broadband which copes well with homeworkers and gamers.
The garden is low maintenance with stones and lawn.
There is a large multi-stove in the lounge if the weather gets nippier than you’d like.
There is a shower room and a full bathroom upstairs and a guest loo downstairs.
The poodles don’t shed or have dander and the cat is a Bengal so has very low dander so they are as hypoallergenic as is possible for pets.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The dogs are well trained, very affectionate and will happily accompany you anywhere but aren’t used to being left at home for more than about 3 hours at a time.
We have a septic tank so we are strict about only flushing loo roll and body fluids.
