About this assignment

A responsible person or couple who is clean and tidy (non-smoker), loves to care for plants and animals, has the physical strength and a calm manner suitable for walking two dogs, and who will enjoy maintaining the apartment and terrace as if it were their own.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Walking (3x per day) and feeding (2x per day) and caring for our sweet and mostly obedient dogs: a 10-year-old male and a 1-year-old female. Both are fixed (sterilized, neutered, spayed), both are trained (but have minds of their own), both are mixed-breeds of mostly unknown origin.
Watering the plants on the terrace and, when needed, the indoor plants too. The terrace gets very hot in summer and most plants will need water once per day (some might even need an extra daily watering).
Maintaining a suitable and environmentally-friendly temperature in the apartment. We have a/c units in the living room and all bedrooms. If the blinds and open windows+doors are managed well, the temperature in the apartment is quite pleasant. If not, the apartment becomes an oven - impossible for dogs and plants to survive.

Three bedrooms + two full bathrooms.
Air conditioning in all bedrooms and the living room.
Open kitchen with gas stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and dishwasher.
Huge, private terrace with sofa, dining table and chairs, gas BBQ, a large fountain and plants.
Washer and dryer.
Loads of parks nearby for dog walks and picnics.
Located 4 minutes walking from metro Line 4, which takes you directly to the center of Madrid. With quick changes to other lines, you can easily get anywhere (museums, opera house, palace, etc.).
A quick change from line 4 to line 8 takes you directly to the Barajas airport, all terminals.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We have a parking space in the building adjacent to ours, which can be made available if needed. A car is not needed to get around the city from our apartment; public transportation is more than sufficient and the most basic amenities (supermarket, pharmacy, butcher, etc.) are all within very short walking distance.
