Summer in Madrid (late July to late Aug). 3-bed apartment (a/c, large private terrace with plants) in quaint barrio with easy metro access to city center

About this assignment

A responsible person or couple who is clean and tidy (non-smoker), loves to care for plants, and who will enjoy maintaining the apartment and terrace as if it were their own. We have dogs, but they will be travelling with us, so the main priority is the plants.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Watering the plants on the terrace and, when needed, the indoor plants too. The terrace gets very hot in summer and most plants will need water once per day (some might even need an extra daily watering).
Maintaining a suitable and environmentally-friendly temperature in the apartment. We have a/c units in the living room and all bedrooms. If the blinds and open windows+doors are managed well, the temperature in the apartment is quite pleasant. However, if left on its own, the apartment becomes an oven - impossible for plants to survive.

What are the good features of the property and location

Three bedrooms + two full bathrooms.
Air conditioning in all bedrooms and the living room.
Open kitchen with gas stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and dishwasher.
Huge, private terrace with sofa, dining table and chairs, a large fountain and plants.
Washer and dryer.
Located 4 minutes walking from metro Line 4, which takes you directly to the center of Madrid. With quick changes to other lines, you can easily get anywhere (museums, opera house, palace, etc.).
A quick change from line 4 to line 8 takes you directly to the Barajas airport, all terminals.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We have a parking space in the building adjacent to ours, which can be made available if needed. A car is not needed to get around the city from our apartment; public transportation is more than sufficient and the most basic amenities (supermarket, pharmacy, butcher, etc.) are all within very short walking distance.
There is no problem if someone wants to take daytrips (or even an overnight trip) to Toledo or Segovia or similar whilst staying in our apartment. As long as the plants get their necessary dose of water.

Can I bring my own pets?

Yes
Restrictions: Well-trained, non-destructive, quiet pets are welcome! This is a great neighborhood for dogs and dog-walking. We would just want to be sure that our neighbors aren't disturbed and the apartment isn't damaged.
