About this assignment

Someone reliable who is a good communicator. Someone who understands the basics of looking after plants. Someone who respects my belongings and keeps the place tidy.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Watering the many plants on my south-facing balcony is the main task and once or twice a week or so watering the ones I have inside.

What are the good features of the property and location

Very central Tokyo close to 3 different stations, Yotsuya Sanchome, Akebonobashi and Yotsuya. Quiet and charming Araki-cho neighborhood with many bars and restaurants. Penthouse apartment with balcony.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Tokyo is hot at this time of year. The apartment is on the third floor with no elevator. There is a need to be quiet in the stairwell as it is very echo-ey and the downstairs neighbors are elderly.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

Testimonials

Highly recommended plant sit in Tokyo!

We thoroughly enjoyed caring for Joan’s plants in her large, comfortable, and well-appointed flat. Joan was a wonderful and communicative host, who welcomed us warmly with tips on how to best enjoy her home and city. She also labelled everything, from soy sauce to dish soap, so we would easily find what we needed.😊 Joan lives in a very cool part of Tokyo, within an 8-10 minute walk of the Marunouchi (red) line and the Shinjuku (green) line. However, everything you need is right in her neighbourhood, including all the convenience stores, great restaurants, and an awesome supermarket. This was our first visit to Japan, and Joan made it so easy with her detailed videos and first-hand help via Zoom and WhatsApp. We would absolutely welcome the opportunity to care for her home and plants again. Big hugs from us. S&T
