About this assignment
I leave home for short periods during holidays or work travels. I'm looking for someone who is respectful with my home and my neighbours and who give some company to my furry kitties. I have two cats: a 2-years old black female and a new male tiger kitty, 2 months old. I am more fond for quiet people.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
I would like someone to sleep over so they do not feel abandoned, take care of food, water and sand box. My cats are pretty autonomous, but if you pay a little attention (play, pet...) that would be a bonus.
On top of that, please be quiet and respectful with my neighbours, respect the apartment (basic cleaning and care of electrodomestics and furniture). Smoking and parties are not allowed.
What are the good features of the property and location
Malaga is a very popular destination and accommodation has become pretty expensive. This is a good opportunity to visit free of charge. My apartment is located in the University area, a nicer neighbour and quietter than downtown. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes, supermarkets and green areas. And the connection with downtown is unbeatable: metro in 10 min (and 60 cents per ticket) or bus, in 20 min, 60 cents per ticket, if you buy the transportation cards.
You can also reach Malaga city's beaches by bus and metro, or visit lovely towns from main train station and bus station (reachable in 7 min by metro).
I have good internet connection, especially good if you work remotely. You will have access to the full apartment except my bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped and I have a cosy terrace with nice views to the hills. There are two bathrooms to your availability.
If you have a car, there is plenty of parking spots around and it is a very safe neighbourhood.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
I am away for short times, generally 1 week or 10 days. You need to consider if that is suitable for you, especially if you come from far away.
I offer a guest room with a double-size sofa bed, which is pretty comfortable. Please, do not use my bed and bedroom. However, you can use my suite bathroom, with a bath.
I don't live downtown, which for me is an asset, but some people may want more action. The public transportation is cheap, frequent and fast, though.
I kindly ask to be considerate with energy and water consumption while staying in my place. Please, do not leave A/C activated all time.
Can I bring my own pets?

Great city, apartment and cats
I had a great house sitting experience at Virginia’s place. She is a great host, and I enjoyed the friendly & uncomplicated communication, upfront and during my stay. The apartment is well located at the university/student district, the barrio offers all one could need (supermarkets, restaurants aso). The metro is nearby. The apartment itself is nice and cozy and has all you need. The cats are just great! Cute and sometimes playful, and easy to handle. I also liked the different types of their personality, one is rather shy (Negrita), while Michi got used to me super fast. The whole house sitting part of things was easily feasible because Virginia left very good instructions and instructed me very well when we met. Definitely a recommendation, I am glad to have spent two great weeks there.

Great Location with two house cats
This was a great house-sit experience. Virginia's home is in a perfect location for anyone wishing to explore Malage and this area of Southern Spain. I had a hire-car, but the Metro underground is very close and so cheap and efficient to get to down-town Malaga (The Piccasso Museum was very good). The two cats have very different characters - Michi , the younger male, being 'frisky' and playful and the lady Negrita, being quite shy and reserved. Both a joy to get to know and easy to look after. Although we were able to meet for a short while when I arrived when everything was explained, Virginia left loads of written notes and everything was straightforward. I was also able to exchange messages with Virginia at any time if needed. The Apartment has everything you might need and I enjoyed using the balcony, which overlooked a nice large paved/garden/ play area and also looked towards the mountains in the background. I would do it all again. Thanks for everything Virginia.

Two cats in Málaga
We spent 8 days in Málaga, Southern Spain, with cats Negrita and "Chico". Negrita, an older female, was a bit shy at the beginning but gradually grew more confident and social. Chico, a lively male kitten, accepted us at once, played with us and toys. The cats were friendly towards each other but sometimes Negrita thought it was too much play. The flat was a tidy two bedroom apartment a few blocks from the "Ciudad de la Justicia" subway station. The area has (at least) two supermarkets and many restaurants. By subway it is easy to get to the center of Málaga, 5-6 stations away. You could travel more than one person on an easy refillable card. Virinia was kind and welcoming and had prepared for our stay. We had a wonderful week in Málaga and strongly recommend a stay there.

Great housesitting with two lovely cats in Malaga
I had the opportunity to catsit for Virgina. Both of her cats are very lovely. Negrita is around two years old and at first a bit shy. The kitten was in december five months old and loved to play but also to get cuddled. It was a pleasure to take care of the cats and very easy. Virgina responded fast and was helpful with introductions to the cats, the flat, Malaga and Andalusia. It was easy and cheap to get to the airport, the city, the long beach and the promenade with public transportation. I highly recommend this sit.
