About this assignment

We are looking for someone who loves cats and their temperament, who will look after our little Mungo as if he was their own kitten.
If you know a little (or a lot) about plants you're also very welcome to keep our green friends alive while you are here!
And of course, we are looking for someone respectful of our home.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The main responsability will be to look after our 3,5 years old ginger cat for our week away. Looking after him means feeding him, loving him, playing with him (and sending photos to his loving parents!).

What are the good features of the property and location

Our home is close to the famous surf spots of the Basque Country. You have a cycling path going to the beach next to the complex! The neighbourhood is quiet and friendly, and there is a lot of beautiful nature to see in the area! The basque country is great for nature lovers : surfing, sailing, diving, hiking, cycling, there are lots of options! It is also a very picturesque area with a typical basque village, between ocean and mountains. There is always something to do around here (if it's raining, you even have cinemas), and the temperatures don't get really low, even in winter. Come see it, you will love it!
About our appartment : it is on the first and last floor of a small residence in the middle of the trees. You are 10 minutes away from the beach by bike, around 20 minutes if you decide to walk (there is a "voie verte", pedestrians and bicycle path literally next to the complex going to the closest beach, along a small river). It is a very calm and relaxed neighbourhood.. The flat is 15 minutes walk away from the center of Bidart, with all shops. You also have a bus stop 100 meters away, and a reserved parking spot if you are coming with your car.
The appartment itself is 35 square meters with a big balcony., It has all the commodities (washing machine, dish washer, oven, etc), a separate bedroom, bathroom and toilet. The interior is mainly made of wooden items because we like to have a natural feeling in our decoration.
Regarding the area : Bidart is in the heart of the basque coast : 10minutes (drive) away from Biarritz, 20 minutes away from Bayonne. The spanish boarder is 35 km away. You can enjoy all sorts of ocean-related activities and the mountains are also available for hikes or cycling. There are lots of beautiful typical villages to visit, some good food to try. You can also get to know more about the basque culture with all the activities organized by the municipality. It is basically a place next to the ocean and the mountains, but also close to the cities Biarritz-Bayonne-Anglet, where you will find everything you need!

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We need someone to commit for the whole period of our absence, which is from Sunday 18th of January to Monday the 26th (8 nights).
Otherwise, nothing in particular, we are sure you will love our cat and our village and we'll be staying in touch with you for anything you might need!
