About this assignment
Hi there! We are Luc and María. We are looking for a warm, responsible and pet-loving person who can enjoy our small and cozy home in the center of a traditional Dutch city for 2,5 months. And in the meantime loves to take care of our two cats Latty and Lola.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
The most important thing is that you love spending time with our cats and taking care of them. This means that you give them food every day and clean their litter boxes. Apart from that the cats are super relaxed.
What are the good features of the property and location
The house is located in the center of the city with everything closeby. Supermarkets, restaurants, cafés and public transport are all on walking distance. You will stay in a old traditional Dutch house which has been renovated recently.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We are looking for someone who wants to take care of our house and cats for around 2,5 months (September 7 - November 27)
Our two cats Latty and Lola are adopted from Lithuania and found their new home here. They love being together around us.
Latty is our special cat because due to his past he is more shy and therefore it is more difficult for him to get cuddles from humans. But still he loves to come close and sit next to you and eat candy from your hand.
Our other cat Lola is as cute as Latty and she loves to cuddle with everybody and is super playful.
Can I bring my own pets?

A beautiful discovery: Enkhuizen
What a wonderful experience! Luc and Maria were sweet and kind from the moment they met me at the station. The house is beautiful and functional, and the village is fantastic. The kittens Lola and Latty are very sweet and well-behaved, even if they have different personalities. Lola, "the queen", is beautiful, sweet, and cuddly; Latty, on the other hand, is an independent cat who doesn't like to be touched but speaks to you with her eyes. This time, too, beautiful Holland didn't disappoint me, and it was a pleasure to discover this part of the north, even if it's a little chilly this season. Netherlands House/Cat Sit
I had a lovely time in Enkhuizen house sitting for Luc and Maria in the centre of this coastal town. They were welcoming and hospitable (Maria let me use her 'granny' bike while I was there) and provided lots of information about things to see and do and also recommending local foods to try. Their 2 lovely cats each have their own personalities and were a pleasure to look after. They are rescue cats and stay inside with access to a secure courtyard. Enkhuizen is an historic port from the Netherlands Golden Age with many interesting sights and a bike ride away from other villages on well signposted paths in a scenic part of Friesland. Highly recommended.
