About this assignment

I'm Carol, a Brazilian living in Barcelona, and I'm looking for a responsible and caring house sitter to stay in our home while I'm away. The ideal person is trustworthy, tidy, and genuinely enjoys the company of cats. You’ll be caring for my beloved cats that are used to daily attention and cuddling time, so experience with animals is a big plus.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Important Details:

Must be a non-smoker (this includes no vaping or strong fragrances – Rodolfo has allergies to perfume, smoke, and similar irritants).

Comfortable with basic cat care, mantaining their routine: feeding (wet food twice per day), litter box cleaning, and providing affection.

Respectful of my home and privacy, as well as my neighboors's.

What are the good features of the property and location

Prime Location in Poblenou – One of Barcelona’s most vibrant, international and desirable neighborhoods.

1 Block from the Metro – Easy, fast access to the rest of the city via public transport.

Close to the Beach – Just a short walk to the sea (10 min), perfect for morning strolls or relaxing evenings.

Steps from Rambla de Poblenou – A lively pedestrian street with cafés, bakeries, restaurants, and local shops.

Quiet, Safe Neighborhood – Residential yet central, with a relaxed, local vibe.

Modern, Comfortable Home – We have a washing machine for clothes, and a dishwasher, gas stove top, electric oven, heater for the winter, portable AC and fans for the summer, everything to make your stay as confortable as posible.

As I am a remote worker, so you can also find a comfortable work station with a big screen and a comfortable chair you can use. The internet/wifi is fiber and have a stable and fast connection, so no worries about that too.

We don't have a TV, but Barcelona offers plenty of activities, I don't believe you would have time to feel bored.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

? About the Pets:
There are two cats — one adult and one kitten (currently 4 months old).

The kitten is still very young, curious, and energetic, which means: lots of litter box activity (sometimes he poops 4 times per day), playful bursts of energy, and a need for a bit of extra attention.

Responsibilities include feeding, providing fresh water, cleaning the litter box (daily or everytime you see there's poop), and offering a little love and playtime.

? Please Note:
No smoking or vaping (inside or outside). Rodolfo has serious allergies to cigarette smoke, scented products, and strong perfumes and he might start a coffing crisis if he gets in constant contact with strong artificial fragrances or cigarretes. He has ashma and bronquitis, but it's under control now.

So, that means: no strong fragrances (colognes, scented candles, room sprays, etc.)

No parties, no overnight guests – this is a quiet residential building with elderly neighbors, and Airbnb-style activity is strictly prohibited.

? What You’ll Enjoy:
Amazing location in Poblenou, just 1 block from the subway. If you wanna reach the most touristic part of the city, this is the best place to be; you are only 15 minutes away by metro from Gracia, Barceloneta, Barrio Gotico... But you still have a calm place to come back on the end of the day. :)

Short walk to the beach – perfect for relaxing mornings or evening strolls.

Safe, peaceful neighborhood in one of Barcelona’s best areas.
