Cat / plant sitter wanted in sunny southern California at the base of the San Gabriel mountains

About this assignment

All we need is someone to stay with our two sister cats - Pearl and Topaz. They are rescued Snowshoe cats around around two years old. They LOVE to play with toys any time, very toy motivated, so someone who can spend a little time interacting with them every day is what we're looking for.

Start and end dates can be cut shorter if necessary - they can live alone for a day or two on either end if the full time doesn't work for someone.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Just feeding the cats and scooping the litter boxes, and playing with and snuggling the kitties! That's really all there is to it! Otherwise turning on my plant lights every day and giving them water once a week.

What are the good features of the property and location

We just moved a year ago from Wisconsin and LOVE it here. The property itself has an amazing pool, hot tub, fireplace and grilling area, an exercise facility, off-street parking, and is very secure. The apartment has Wi-Fi, a desk area with a 2nd monitor, 2 bedrooms that can sleep 4 (one Queen and 2 twin beds), 2 bathrooms, central air, and in-unit laundry. The best, however, is our location! We are right on the main street in Old Town Monrovia - tons of shops, restaurants, grocery stores and more are literally right outside of our door, with a street market every Friday night. We are also about a mile from hiking trails into the mountains - I highly recommend downloading the All Trails app if you are coming to stay and aren't familiar with the area. We are about a 45 minute drive from LAX and the ocean, and 30 minutes from downtown LA and all of the sights and activities there. Lastly, the weather is always amazing!

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We would need someone who plans on being here at least once per day for the cats. It's only a 45 minute drive to the ocean or downtown LA, we would just need whoever sits for us to be here every day.

This will be our third time using this site - both times have been very positive, so I feel really grateful to this amazing community! I'm happy to provide references or anything else that might put someone's mind at ease - happy to set up a Zoom to meet virtually as well. Thank you for considering!
