Yallingup Rural Property with very active Dog and Bird Aviaries

Would more likely suit active retirees, not travellers wanting a base due to the time needed to look after everything. Plus need to be proactive/handy if things go wrong, as inevitably something does break down and needs fixing every so often!

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Our dog is very high energy and needs exercise every day, (or you will know all about it!)
This can be either taking her on 30-90min walks (and there are many options from home), dog park or beach. She loves to play, is ball obsessed so she is always keen to chase a ball/play fetch. (Please do not enquire if you already have a dog and want to bring along)

Birds - there are two main walk in aviaries and a couple of single resident cages to attend to. The Birds will take approx 1.5hrs of your time every day with food prep, feeding and cleaning. There arent any aggressive ones I am happy to report!
I am very fussy with caring for my birds, consisting of Princess Parrots, Galahs, Cockatiels and Lorikeets. Food prep is more involved than what most people would bother with, not just a plate of seed here and there. I also have fresh enrichment changed out once every week or so.

Watering, Being mid Summer there will be a LOT of watering to do, this is a very time consuming process as I have done a lot of planting on the property and the majority is not reticulated. Attention to detail like topping up bird baths and keeping them fresh, watering pot plants. Our property has an abundance of native birds and they need to be looked after as well :)

What are the good features of the property and location

10 Minutes from Dunsborough, 25 from Busselton, 40 to Margaret River.
Stunning 5 acre property at the end of a cul de sac, many decent walk trails from the property.
Not to mention the wonderful choice of beaches at close range!
The Summer evenings are just stunning here, you can relax on the deck overlooking the back of the property with a glass of wine or whatever takes your fancy! No mosquitoes either!
Kangaroos often settle next door on the vacant block, and come across the back of our property. (Our property is fenced to half way down)

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Must have Telstra as your phone provider as any others are useless where we are...
Definitely be prepared to keep the dog happy, and be confident with looking after the birds. This is my main priority, yes keep the house tidy and clean but looking after the pets/outdoors is what will impress me the most!
