About this assignment

We are looking for an animal lover with dog experience who would enjoys the outdoors and tending to our outdoor animals (pigs, chickens. Ducks and cats). Our family home and Smallholding is nestled in a beautiful secluded valley. A house sitter with their own transport would be ideal but not essential.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Primarily looking after our dog Goose, a labrador cross. He needs foods, exercise, company and love. In the morning and evening the pigs need feeding (they will also need occasional top up of straw in their house). The chickens and ducks need feeding in the morning and shutting up after dusk (occasion extra bedding needed in ducks). Cats need feeding in the morning. They are once ferrell rescue cats and tend to keep themselves to themselves but will take a stroke once they trust you.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our Smallholding is secluded and private. From the top of our land the islands of roaring water bay can be viewed. There are beautiful hill walks nearby and being situated between ballydehob and bantry the three stunning peninsulas of west cork are withing striking distance. West cork is also famous for its food and culture with great local craic, music, cafes and restaurants.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

LGBT+ friendly. Car would be very beneficial but it depends on how happy you are to be secluded. There is a bus but it can be difficult to get it to stop as there's little space on the road. Our dates are slightly flexible.

Can I bring my own pets?

Yes
Restrictions: So long as it wouldn't bother any of our animals. Any dog would have to not chase sheep as we have neighbouring sheep
