Downtown Vancouver vacation - 2 cats

About this assignment

I'm looking for someone experienced with cats (and who loves them!), who will be considerate and caring of my cats and my home. And be respectful of my neighbours. You could be a couple or solo traveller. If you can provide reassurances, eg. testimonials, background checks, whatever it may be, I'll be more likely to choose you.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Feed the cats breakfast and dinner, timing can be flexible if you are out late and such. Keep the water bowl fresh. Scoop poop out of the litterbox at least daily, change the cat litter weekly. Spend at least a little time with them, whether you're petting them, brushing them or playing with them - giving them company is the important part. I won't ask you to brush their teeth. I would like regular updates with photos of my kitties, they can be brief. Water my plants 1-2 times a week depending on the plant.

What are the good features of the property and location

You'll be in the heart of the city, but also with close access to nature, from Stanley Park to the North Shore mountains. I'm located in downtown Vancouver (West End), with a ton of restaurant options on my doorstep including sushi. 7 min walk to Sunset Beach, 15 min walk to Stanley Park, close to both Robson and Granville Street. Comfortable 1 bedroom 1 bathroom condo (approx 670 square feet) with a queen bed, balcony, television, recently renovated bathroom and a modern kitchen. Top floor corner unit. The building is four floors and has an elevator. 1 assigned parking space. In-unit dishwasher, in-building laundry.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

My cats are named Poppy (the tabby) and Luna (the grey). Sometimes they tussle, sometimes Poppy grooms Luna, sometimes they sleep together - generally you can let them do their thing with each other. Since you'll be staying a couple weeks, I fully expect them to be cuddling up with you before the end of your stay. They can be shy but are ultimately friendly and like people. They need to be fed twice a day - they aren't the sort of cats you can just fill up a bowl with lots of food and let them pace themselves. Poppy particularly will eat all of it immediately. So if you want to stay out overnight you would need to feed them dinner before you go and breakfast as soon as you get back. If you're out until late, just make sure to feed them dinner before you go to bed. That kind of thing. So you should be planning to stay in the area for the duration of the house sitting. (But could certainly add on some travel in B.C. before or afterwards :)
