No pets
We are looking for someone who has integrity, is in good health and is willing to learn the customs of Hawaii in preparation for an incredible holiday on our Island. We have no pets.
We woukd like our sitters to care for both the home and plants. There will be some watering, a bit of prunung and fertilizing.
Our sitter will be responsible for taking care of home and garden. We have no pets. Garden needs water and one time fertilizing. Some trimming.
Home will need regular cleaning and mindfulness of the wood flooring and keeping lights turned off.
Living in a subtropical climate offers water activities, hiking, biking, golf, etc. year round. We are 15 minutes from the beach, 5 minutes from tennis and pickleball courts, 5 minutes from the University of Hawaii, 15 min from downtown Hilo. 2 minutes from the municipal golf course. We have ocean and mountain views.
There is a lot to do on the Big Island and a lot of places to explore. You will want to have a car. There are Hawaiian customs that you should know about, so you can have a more authentic experience and not step on anyone’s toes. Hawaiians are very protective of their land, family, customs and kapu. Do your homework before you arrive and you’ll maximize your vacation.
No, sorry.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to house sit for Tom and Ceryse in their beautiful Hilo home. They were absolutely lovely to interact with—gracious, thoughtful, and clear in their communication. Their home offered stunning views and lush gardens, and we immediately felt at ease and very much at home. It was a true pleasure to care for their space, and we’re grateful for the trust they placed in us.
