Our dogs Wolf and Alpha love to walk and work with us in the garden. The elderly cat lives a quite life, only food and cuddles required. The tortoises sometimes do not show up for weeks. When they do, they will demand food!

About this assignment
We are looking for animal and nature lovers who have the ability to handle two Malinois to house sit for four weeks this summer. Between around June 22 and July 22 of 2026. As we live in the middle of nowhere, we think a couple (friends, partners, whatever!) would be suited better than a single person.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
You would take care of our two dogs, Alpha and Wolf, Athena the cat and our sometimes illusive tortoises Dionysus, Bachus, Dama and Plork. Wolf likes some action, she joins us working in the garden and loves being outside. Alpha is 13 y/o, getting on a bit and spending more time relaxing on a pillow lately. As the dogs stay inside when you leave you can not stay away too long. Plan daytrips on days our cleaning lady comes in. If it does not rain, our many plants will need watering (partly via a drip system) which can take at least an hour as we are growing trees for a food forrest.
What are the good features of the property and location
Our restored Magasina, dating from 1753, on 3 acres of land, lies in the middle of nature. The house is open, birds fly in and out and steal the cat's food. The most beautiful beaches are nearby, as are many different hiking routes. Our cleaning lady, and extreme dog lover, comes in twice a week. You get to borrow my Toyota pick up, stick, so go explore. Internet is fast, espresso hot, large hammock, loads of books. We love to cook, so our kitchen is very well equiped. Pizza oven, larg Bastard grill and huge open fire grill in the garden. We hardly ever suffer mosquitos in our house! Bedroom is airconditioned.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
You need to be able to drive a car, a necessity here. You will not be alone, birds, bats, geckos and anoles live here too. The dogs will sometimes start a barking contest with the (only) neigbours dogs, you being bossy is required at times.
Can I bring my own pets?

Fun nature house and garden near beaches
We spent 3 weeks with Alpha, Wolf and Athena at Maryn's beautiful home. Alpha and Wolf are working dogs so they love to be around you as you tend to the garden and around the property. We kept them happy by having them hunt for kibble and staying busy. Athena the cat comes home in the morning and the evening for her meals and we always wonder what kind of adventure she's been on all day & night. Maryn prepared us well for our sit with clear instructions and had great communication throughout. There were no surprises, she warned us that birds will fly in and out of the house but we enjoyed their visits. Their property is on the quiet side of the island and near many beautiful beaches, our favorite one being 10 minutes way. We were able to use her truck to get around and explore when we weren't working. The internet was great for remote work and we had no issues. There are plenty of grocery stores and restaurants/food trucks nearby, We made a lot of our meals from the vegetables in the garden, even had the privilege of a nice dragon fruit harvest as well as our favorite: sweet sop! Overall it was a great stay and we would do it again anytime. If you're a nature and animal lover, this sit is for you. Maryn and her husband Roel were excellent and generous hosts and the animals were easy to care for.
