Our three dogs—Ubba, Koko, and Poco—are a big part of life here. They’re sweet, quirky, and used to having lots of space to roam. We've also added some chickens to the family and we have them to thank for our eggs!

We’re looking for a responsible, kind person (or couple) who loves animals, enjoys nature, and feels comfortable in a peaceful, off-grid setting. Our cozy home, tucked into the hills and surrounded by forest, is perfect for someone who enjoys solitude and slow living. You’ll care for our three dogs (Ubba, Koko, and Poco) and chickens, ensuring they’re fed, watered, and safe. The house is off-grid, powered by solar energy and spring water, with a gray water system and compost toilet, so a mindful, sustainable approach is required. A vehicle is needed, as we’re about 30 minutes from the nearest towns, and the road is rough. With reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated workspace, it’s an ideal spot for remote work or simply unplugging. If this sounds like a good fit, we’d love to hear from you!
The main responsibilities are caring for our three dogs (Ubba, Koko, and Poco), looking after our chickens, and keeping an eye on our off-grid home’s systems. The dogs need daily feeding, fresh water, and attention, as well as their beds brought inside at night. Our chickens are low-maintenance — they need food, water, and a quick daily check to ensure they’re safe. We’ll provide clear instructions for their care. Our off-grid systems are simple to manage, with daily checks on the solar battery water levels and mindful use of water and biodegradable soaps due to our spring-fed and gray water system. You’ll also water a few houseplants weekly and occasionally water outdoor plants if needed. We’ll guide you through everything before we leave and provide a detailed house guide to ensure you're comfortable during your stay.
Our masía is nestled on 4.5 hectares of terraced land in the peaceful hills outside Lucena del Cid, Castellón. Surrounded by forest and birdsong, it’s the perfect place to slow down and reconnect with nature. The house is fully off-grid, powered by solar energy and fed by our own natural spring, providing clean water for both the home and garden. There’s reliable high-speed internet for remote work or staying connected. Inside, a dedicated workspace with a desk, monitor, and keyboard makes it easy to focus on projects. The views are stunning, and there are nearby river swimming spots and hiking trails. Lucena del Cid and Atzeneta del Maestrat are about 30 minutes away, offering cafés, supermarkets, and weekly markets. It’s a simple, quiet retreat—ideal for anyone looking to unwind and connect with animals and nature.
Living here is peaceful, beautiful, and grounding, but it’s also a bit rustic, best suited to someone who enjoys a slower, more intentional pace of life. Our home is fully off-grid, powered by solar energy and spring-fed water, with all the essentials—electricity, hot water, and reliable Wi-Fi. However, you’ll need to be mindful of energy and water usage, which is part of the charm of living close to nature.
The road to the house is unpaved and a bit rough, especially in winter, so being comfortable with country driving is helpful. It adds to the adventure of arriving at a secluded retreat surrounded by nature.
Caring for our animals is a key part of the stay. The dogs are independent but thrive on consistency, fresh food, water, and daily companionship. The chickens require low-maintenance care, including daily check-ins and feeding.
We use a compost toilet and gray water system, so eco-living experience or curiosity is appreciated. We’ll walk you through everything to ensure you feel comfortable. You’ll need your own car as we’re 30 minutes from the nearest town, and there’s no public transport.
This place is perfect for someone who enjoys solitude, values quiet moments, and connects with the simple joys of nature—birdsong, starlit skies, and peaceful walks. If this resonates with you, we’d love to have you.

Restrictions: We’re open to sitters bringing a dog, but only if they’re non-territorial, well-socialized, and used to being around other dogs. Our three dogs are sweet but have their own dynamic, so introducing another dog can be a bit of an adjustment.
