About this assignment

Adult individual or couple with either a car or valid driver's license to mind a sustainable home (solar power, rain catchment for water) in a village that is in the San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, municipality. A love for a rural setting works of course. Able to provide references including contact info. No more than two people. Experience driving in Mexico will help you but the quirks can be learned. Affinity to pets, plants and plants.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

We have a couple dogs to feed, walk and enjoy. Real friendly. Plant watering and general tidiness. We have a weekly cleaning person. Sustainable means dry bathrooms. Every few days you have a small chore with that.

What are the good features of the property and location

Outdoor porches, patios, views in a secure four-home community with nearby bilingual neighbors who obviously share the values of sustainability. We all get along, hang out, etc and they would be of help with any questions. All 4 homes are adobe. Indoor and outdoor kitchens. Drive to San Miguel Centro is 20 minutes. Check out SMA online if you don't know about the "Magic City" in Central Mexico. The city offers history, culture, lotsa music and food with a large expat population from US, Canada and beyond

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Walkability: great walks, climbs, trails and a village center close by. San Miguel being a big draw, you can drive in (or near to park and hop a municipal bus for 8 pesos.

Restrictions: If dogs, friendly; our dogs don't live with cats but we can keep dogs out of your living area.
