About this assignment

I’m looking for a responsible, kind-hearted and nature-loving person (I would prefer a couple) who truly enjoys peace and quiet.

You should be reliable, independent, and comfortable living in a rural setting – the finca is surrounded by nature and reached via an unpaved country road, so having a suitable vehicle (4WD is not necessary, but Motorhomes and heavy vehicles might have trouble in the sand) is important.

Experience with dogs is essential – there are some dogs in the area and beside my dog there is another big one who looks after my finca. Some practical or DIY skills are also important as small maintenance tasks may come up from time to time. The finca is self-sufficiently and it's beneficial to have some experience with photovoltaic systems and water pumps.
This is a drug-free space – I kindly ask that no form of drug use takes place on the property. Thank you for respecting the energy and spirit of this home.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Feed and care for the big dog who takes care of the finca (daily fresh water and food) - he sleeps outside the house and he is also free to leave the place.
At the moment there's no need to care for my horse, as she is currently in training at another stable.

Water plants/herbs around the house, you are free to grow your own vegetables if you have a longer stay. I also offer a long term stay in a tent or your own Van in exchange for a helping hand to establish a little Community and a Magic Living Place.
If you enjoy gardening, there’s always something to do, but it’s not required.

Keep the house tidy and secure while I’m away.
Handle basic maintenance if anything small arises (e.g. checking the water pump)

What are the good features of the property and location

My finca is located on the edge of the stunning Doñana National Park – a paradise for nature lovers, birdwatchers, and anyone seeking peace and quiet.
It’s only a 30-minute drive to one of the most beautiful beaches in southwestern Spain – endless dunes and wild coastline await you.
The famous pilgrimage village of El Rocío, with its unique sandy streets and deep Andalusian spirit, is just 15 km away – and offers guided horseback rides through town and into the national park.
The finca is surrounded by pine forest and open land – perfect for endless walks right from your doorstep.
Birdwatchers will love the incredible variety of birdlife in the area.
There’s a cozy open fireplace in the house for winter evenings, and you can enjoy grilling and sitting around an outdoor fire under the stars.
From the terrace, you can sip freshly squeezed orange juice nearly all year round – the property has orange trees that fruit generously.
The view over the pine trees brings a deep sense of calm and connection to nature.
Almonte, the nearest town (5 km), has excellent grocery stores, cafés, and all daily essentials.
The finca is a peaceful and grounding space – ideal for digital nomads, writers, creatives, or anyone needing a break from the busy world.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The finca is in a rural, remote area and accessed via an unpaved road – you will need a suitable vehicle and good driving skills on a sandy road.
You should feel comfortable being in a peaceful, off-grid-like setting surrounded by nature – it’s quiet, with few neighbors, and perfect for those who enjoy solitude.
Internet is reliable, but mobile reception may vary depending on your provider (I use digi mobil with a router, it works good, but you need your own devices for Internet)
The house is simple and rustic – it has no central heating. Winter nights can get cold, but there is a cozy wood-burning stove and an open fireplace for warmth.
Summers in southern Spain can be very hot – there’s no pool yet, but cold water and a shaded outdoor terrace offer refreshing relief.
This is not a place for parties or city comforts – it suits those who appreciate simplicity, silence, and nature. We use biodegradable cosmetics and cleaning products, as we are not connected to a sewage system. We also have a composting toilet located outside.
You’ll be caring for animals who need calm, loving energy and daily attention – please only apply if you truly love and respect animals.
Some basic DIY or handyman skills are helpful, as small maintenance tasks may arise.
This is a drug-free space – no drug use is allowed on the property. Thank you for honoring the peaceful energy of this home.

Can I bring my own pets?

Yes
Restrictions: Well-behaved and sociable dogs are welcome, as long as they get along with other dogs, and you take full responsibility for them.
