About this assignment

We're looking for a reliable, caring, and responsible person (or couple) to take care of our home, garden, and animals while we're away. Ideally, you enjoy being around animals and are comfortable with basic daily care routines for different pets – including a dog, a cat, rabbits, and a few horses.

You should be someone who:

Loves animals and will treat them with kindness and attention

Is comfortable feeding, watering, and spending a little time with each animal

Can handle simple garden tasks like watering flowers, plants, and vegetables

Is okay with mowing the lawn if it gets long

Is tidy and respectful of the house

Can communicate easily and reach out if anything comes up


It’s a peaceful place, perfect for someone who enjoys a quiet stay in the countryside while keeping things running smoothly. We really appreciate someone who treats the home and animals like their own.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

A quick overview of the things we’d like your help with:
Animals:
Dog: Feed and give fresh water daily. A walk or two would be great – Charlie absolutely adores his walks.
Cat: Food, water, and special treat for breakfast
Rabbits: Fresh greens, pellets and water every day. Keep an eye on the hutch and hang out :)
Horses: Feed morning and evening (letting them in and out of the grass pasture twive a day), make sure they have clean water, and checking that they’re looking happy and healthy.
Plants & Garden:
Indoor and outdoor plants/flowers: Water them regularly, especially if it’s warm and dry.
Vegetable garden: Water regularly – particularly in hot weather.
Lawn: Mow the grass if it starts looking a bit wild.

What are the good features of the property and location

We live on the peaceful peninsula of Tuse Næs, just north of Holbæk, our home in Udby offers a perfect mix of countryside charm, beautiful nature, and cozy comfort. It’s a quiet, relaxing place—ideal if you enjoy animals, fresh air, and scenic surroundings.
You will have access to a swimming pool, a wood-fired hot tub (perfect for a cozy soak under the stars or the midnight sun), a small forest area with hammocks, a fireplace, and outdoor toys for kids – all on our property
We live just 1.5 km from a charming little harbor area where you’ll find a small beach, a traditional Danish restaurant serving local food and a small boat that sails to and from Holbæk during summer – a lovely way to visit the town
We have a small supermarket located just down the road for groceries and essentials.
The peninsula, Tuse Næs, is surrounded by water – Holbæk Fjord, Isefjord, and Lammefjorden – great for kayaking, fishing, or a quiet walk by the shore. The area is full of fields, forests, and rolling hills, perfect for hiking or biking.
You can explore ”Udby Vig” which is a protected nature area with rare plants and birdlife and Bognæs Forest which is a beautiful and peaceful place for walks and nature spotting
Holbæk is just 15 minutes away by car (or boat or bus!) and offers Holbæk Historic Museum, shopping in boutiques, several cozy cafés, a beach park and a lively marina with a street food section and historic vessels.
A but further away is Sommerland Sjælland amusement park with fun rides, water activities, and more.
Copenhagen is about an pur away, perfect for a daytrip.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We are looking for a sitter who can stay for 3 weeks this summer.
We're in a rural location near public transportation.
We have 4 horses so we prefer sitters woth knowledge of horses.

Can I bring my own pets?

Yes
Restrictions: You can bring your dog if it gets along with other dogs and cats. Our garden does not have fencing.h
