We need someone who can be here for the 7 months or so while we are gone. It could be a shorter amount of time and we could look for a second person to complete the time. We would like nonsmoking, responsible, observant, outdoor plant and insect lovers. Someone who speaks Spanish will make the stay easier. A love of adventure is necessary as there is always something that comes up. Being flexible here seems to be important.
We would like you to occupy the house at night, to observe weekly where ants might be nesting or tusas might be burrowing to tell the gardener and oversee his work. He likes a bit of guidance on the 2 days he comes. Also to keep house/patios clean. Be are peace. Have fun. Badminton and games are available here.
It is a beautiful semi tropical jungle by a river. A variety of birds migrate through. It is peaceful (except for occasional holiday party.) We are 20min. from the capital of the state which has a symphony, theater, galleries, mall, etc, and a walk or short ride to the Sat. organic market in Coatepec. Regular public transport is just off the property. Many restaurants are within walking distance. There are hiking places very nearby. There are expat gatherings and help groups. Coffee and chocolate country, fresh food grown here, hot springs 40 minutes away, beach 1 1/2 hours away, fresh water pools 10 minutes away. We have pineapples, papaya, oranges, limes, coffee, macadamias, hibiscus, herbs, avocados, growing in their season on our land. There is a temperate climate here with the warmest months being in April and May. Summers are cooler with showers.
Are you comfortable in a Spanish speaking country? Do you like insects and spiders? Doors and windows have screens but the outdoors are full of interesting beings. We do not have cable, only internet and books. We have 2 individual beds. We have no pets and do not want any in the house. Do you like to walk a lot? Outside our land sidewalks are often not level, roads can be cobblestone, pathways can be uneven but in Coatepec there is a running track and outdoor sports area where walking is shaded and level for a $10. peso fee. Are you comfortable taking public transport? English speaking taxi drivers can be called but may not always be available. Buses and cooperative taxis come nearby. During rainy season-June-Dec-it rains but not constantly. It is warm rain often in the afternoon or all day when a hurricane is near the Gulf area.
No, sorry.
